This week we were invited over to the Bing's for dinner... which Bing's you wonder... Sarah and Jaccob's, and we were super excited. Sarah is the greatest for inviting people over, I on the other hand am horrible at it. I think it's because I'm not the most confident in my cooking abilities, so I don't want to make something and then have my company have to choke it down, although I don't think I'm THAT horrible! Anyway it's something I want to try to get over, and invite people over more. Back to dinner...
We headed over around five, and Sarah was hard at work. She's made a delicious spaghetti dinner, with salad and garlic bread, and after a LONG day at school I was ready to eat. It was super yummy and hit the spot just right. Sarah's sister Hannah and her daughter Gabriella are staying with the Bing's right now, so it was great to visit with them too. Ella is two and just such a sweet and so smart. I really enjoyed chatting with her at dinner. We had brownies and ice cream for dessert and it really was just a delicious dinner.
After dinner we headed down to the oval for some night time skating, and it was fantastic to see it so busy. I really hope that they keep it, because it's such a great outdoor activity. We got out skates on and hit the ice... my legs were so sore from the day, but I loved being outside and skating, especially with family an friends. We met up with Rafa and Douglas down there and got to be there when Douglas skated for the first time. He did a fantastic job and didn't even fall. Way to go Douglas!
Thanks to Sarah and Jaccob for having us over, it really was a great night and the meal was delicious!

Brandon and I waiting to hit the ice!

Me and my sweet sister-in-law Sarah

Rafa and Douglas, they're from Brazil so skating isn't something they got to do a lot, but they are both becoming great skaters! They're such a sweet couple and we're so glad we met them!

The Bing's... they're so sweet together and such a thoughtful couple

Friday night, I had the chance to spend some more time with my little buddy Ella. I babysat her at our place, and she was a little angle. We played with some toys, colored pictures, watched a movie and even made cupcakes. She was a great little helper and even dried the dishes. The cupcakes turned out delicious, it was just a white cake mix, with strawberry jello added to the mix, then for icing you use cool whip, and let me just say YUMMY! It was nice to have some company Friday night since Brandon was at work. Ella is welcome at our home any day!

Isn't she just the cutest little helper!

Finally, I love the holidays and everything that comes along with them. I love having holiday decorations around my house. I always struggled with displaying Christmas Cards and I think if someone takes the time to send a card, it should be displayed and enjoyed. So I saw at my mother-in-law's home that she had some cards displayed along her window on a string and I thought that was brilliant. So in my craft room, where I spend a lot of time I decided to do that, it worked out well because my curtains were getting fixed so it made the window no so bare. I love the end result and plan to do this again next year in my window!

Thanks friends for all the beautiful Christmas cards this year!

Valentines is also getting started in our home, I bought this little garland at the dollar store and I LOVE how it looks, it makes me happy to look at it now. I hope my Valentine decor will continue to grow.

Another exciting thing that we are looking forward this coming month, is a night away. We were given a gift certificate to White Point Beach for Christmas, and we booked it this week. We're going during the February break and we're excited. We have a cottage on the ocean, we get an hour massage and dinner. It's going to be a nice getaway, and we're so thankful for the gift!
