Happy Almost Birthday Dinner for Julia!!!!

Well I said tonight as we were leaving the restaurant that I was going to go home and post some pictures from Julia's Birthday Dinner tonight, and I didn't want anyone to think I was a a liar so here they are along with a little posting!! Tonight a bunch of the girls went out to Jack Astor's for Julia's Almost Birthday Dinner. We had a bit of a wait, seeing as they wouldn't put our name down on the sheet until everyone had arrived. How stupid is that, we were a group of ten you'd think after half the group came they'd write a name down but no such luck. We tried to be sneaky but were caught in the act of being sneaky. When we finally got seated we had a delicious dinner, filled with laughter and good times. Let's see who was there...Me, Ashley, Katrina, Julia, Kellie, Chantelle, Adele, Jessica, Kelly and Meaghan! I had steak for dinner because I was craving it so bad and cheesecake for dessert...I know at this rate I'll never fit into a wedding dress but I didn't eat a lot for lunch so I figured it would be alright!!! Julia received some beautiful gifts, and I think had a great time surrounded by friends. What was hilarious was that Julia has to get up on a chair while the staff sang happy birthday to her, but instead of saying her name, they made Julia say " Me I'm so Sexy"...or something close to that! I was hilarious! I had a great night and i so think all the girls should do more fun things like that, because it was a blast!!! Here are some pictures, hope you enjoy!!! I couldn't post all of them so check out face book for the rest of them!!! Hope you all have a Steller (for julia) weekend!!

So I actually posted a lot of them on here so I hope you enjoy them...i totally had a blast taking them:)

Two Posts in One Day...

Hey Everyone I'm here for Round two on March 30th, I meant to type more earlier but ran out of room:( So here is part two!! Thursday of this week I worked which was SUPER boring, but luckily Sonja and Ethan picked me up from work and we had some fun! We drove out to Bayer's Lake and went to Michael's and I bought some scrap booking stickers for the scrap book I plan to make of the wedding...there was even one of the Salt Lake Temple, can you even believe it...so I definitely bought that one. We stopped in Old Navy and I picked up a shirt, I might wear it to Julia's birthday dinner but I'm not sure yet! Then we had the most fun, we drove to Mum's house (Sonja's mum) to visit and so that I could try on Sonja's wedding dress which was too weird, to have it on and it be because I'll need one soon, not because we just wanted to have some fun. I wanted to try it on so I would know a rough size, to look for on the Latter Day Brides site, because Sonja's dress is on there. What's funny is that it really fit perfectly...she took some pictures, but hasn't sent them yet!

After the wedding dress fun we headed down to survivor night...the girls were out when we got there but the apartment was open and nicole had said to just head on up... so while we waited we had some fun taking pictures of ethan...look closely in one of them and you can see his two new teeth!

The girls love when ethan comes over, it's fun to have a baby around. So we all hung out and chatted since grey's wasn't on...but good old dependable Survivor was there for us and was a hilarious episode. I'm a bit disappointed at the survivor web-page because there are no good Yau-Man pictures this week and there should be. Yau, as I like to call him found the first hidden immunity idol, which is awesome for him... he was too adorable when he found it he did this little dance which was hilarious. What makes it even better is the fact that he decided to make his own immunity idol and hide it in the exact spot where he found the real one...then someone else will come along and think that they found it, then try to use it to save themselves and it won't work. If he can actually pull that off it would be soooo funny but I don't think it'll happen. What made the night was the immunity challenge. The picture shows some of what they had to do... They had one person up on the tower being the direction giver and then everyone else was blindfolded. They had to listen and be directed towards these hanging skulls which they needed to hit with a club, break them, collect the puzzle piece and get it to the puzzle table. It was so funny because they'd swing like crazy and miss sooo badly, it was like watching little kids play with a pinata at a birthday party. Here is what killed us, so Michelle was the caller and she was directing I think Yau along the course when all of a sudden she falls off her tower, it was so random and sooooo funny that we had to rewind it and re watch it again and again. She redeemed herself by figuring out the puzzle way fast!!! If you go to You Tube and search Survivor Fiji Michelle you should find it, watch it if you need a laugh!!!

Today I didn't work until 1pm, so I went to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned before I am not on my parents insurance...then since I was on Quinpool Road I had to go to my favorite card store, and buy cards!!! I love that play way to much, it's called Duly Noted and it's AMAZING! While I was there I was talking to the girl working about wedding invites, they make custom ones there which are AMAZING, but a bit pricey. She did show me though the wedding invitation binders so I hung out there for awhile and looked through them. I found a few that I liked. It's hard because I want something that isn't super traditional, I want them to be fun and cute...so I have some ideas now which is great! Next time I go Brandon will be coming with me because I want him input on these kind of decisions.

I don't know if the girls I e-mailed checked their e-mails yet, but I'm on a search for Florists that everyone used for their weddings...I want awesome flowers and so I figure I better book something soon. So if you were married in Halifax, Loved your wedding flowers and where you got them from, e-mail me with the info about the Florist that would be AMAZING! I want to find someone soon, so I can check another thing off the list!

I think that is about it for tonight, I need to go wrap the little something something that I have for the birthday girl tomorrow night and my room needs some slight organizing!! Hope you enjoyed my blog times two!!

Keep posting because I love reading what everyone has to say!!

Happy Third Birthday Jacob!

Happy Third Birthday Jacob!
I cannot believe that Jake is already three years old, it's crazy to think about because he was born just after Brandon and I started dating...so it really shows how much time has passed for us! We had a busy day of school on Jake's birthday, luckily I have two less classes to go to next week which is awesome. School is soooooo close to being over. I should mention in case anyone noticed my last blog and all it's spelling mistakes, I am an english major, but on my blog I'm sometimes typing quickly and cannot go make corrections...my loving sister loves to point them out to me...hahha...so don't worry I did notice!!!hahha...Anyway back to the birthday...

Kathy and Jeff had the family and some friends over for cake and ice cream to celebrate Jake's special day...there were quite a few people there and it was great to hangout and visit. Jake was too funny opening gifts, he'd take off a piece of paper and then go throw it out, if only he could always be this neat!! Since jake is a kid of few words right now hies reaction to his gifts were many ohhh's and ahhh's...it was too adorable. His big gift this year was basketball net, he was super thrilled about that one and it working on his slam dunk. His cake this year was Dora the Explorer, he's more of a Diego fan, but he didn't have his own cake...the cake was a super store cake which= delicious! Brandon and I both wanted more. What's too funny is that last year on Jake's Birthday brandon and i wore the exact same tops, him his read hoody and me a navy sweater, which I find too funny. If I had the picture on my computer I would totally post it! i had a good laugh at that!

Sonja was there and we got to chat about some wedding ideas which is always a good time and my nanny was there so I finally got to show her my ring, she said it was beautiful. JJ and Silus came to the party, he has the cutest little cheeks, you just want to squeeze them so much. Here are a few pictures from the party that I thought I'd share, hope you enjoy!!

is it the end of school YET?????

So school is slowly coming to an end, and when I say slowly I mean crawling like a snail. Classes are just so boring now and pointless, I just wish the teachers would say okay no more classes, but of course they can't. So Brandon and I keep going but we are counting down until we are officially DONE! We are ready for a well needed break! I just finished my Shakespear paper so I have one 10 page paper to go...woohoo...too bad this will be the hardest one. The research begins tommorow. What is exciting is that I have a list of everything that I have due, and it's slowly getting all crossed off which is such an exciting feeling!!!! ahhhhh I cannot wait to graduate although I haven't decided if I'm going to the ceremony, four hours of being bored doesn't sound too thrilling to me, especially since Brandon would be up in the B's and I'd be stuck way back in the O's...I guess we'll have to decide soon!!!

I have decided to try to update this thing a bit more regularly because I know I love reading other peoples blog and a daily basis, I seriously check them every time I get on a computer! It's great because there are two new blog friends out there now, Ashley and Melissa started blogs and I am too excited about that. Thanks Kristi for introducing us all to the joys of blogging!! It's turning into a slight addiction!

So as everyone knows I am a slight reality TV show junkie...and one of my favorites started up again, and it is Dancing with the Stars...I wish I could dance, I so would love to take lessons and move like they do, but I don't think I ever will get to...I wish also that I could look that good in the costumes they wear. So last night was the second show and I've picked a few of my favorites....here they are...
Okay so if you don't recognize them i'll tell you who they are...The First guy is Joey Fatone, from N'Sync and my Big Fat Greek Wedding...He is paired up with Kim, and is one of the Top guys..he's entertaining and a great dancer! What is fun with him are his costumes...the first week he was danced like a disco dancer and had Fatone across his back and last night he was in a tux with tails and on the tails were the letters J and F. he is definitely a character...I'm happy for kim because last year she had Jerry Springer. The next person is Laila Ali, world champion boxer and daughter to Muhammad Ali. She is super beautiful and can dance like crazy. She is paired up with Maksim, and they are awesome together...she is 100% the best woman in the competition...she took home the first set of 3 nines!! Then there is Apollo Anton Ono who is an Olympic Gold Medalist in Speed Skating and also a Roots spokes person...he's paired up with a new instructor/dancer Julianne who is only 18 years old but they are great together...their quick step last night was WOW...they were so in sync it was great...they were talking about their chemistry last night and how they are like a brother and sister...too cute. Finally my man from 90210 Ian Ziering aka. Steve Sanders...he's doing great so far, and has tough shoes to fill seeing as he is paired up with Cheryl who is the raining champ of dancing with the stars...time two...winning first with Drew and then with Emmit! But he is holding his own and looking good...what was so adorable last night was that Brian Austin Gree aka. David Silver was there to cheer him on last night, I felt like it was the beginning of a 90210 reunion!!! I love it. So if you don't watch this show and need something to watch on Mondays and Tuesdays check it out you'll love it and want to dance.
I'll also plug my other favorite Monday night show...I should so work for these TV company's...anyway it was the season final last night for What About Brian and it was AWESOME!!! I wish it was a new one next week because is was awesome...i use the word awesome a lot if anyone has a new word I can use let me know...2-3 would be perfect...but the show was great...love it...watch it online if you want to see what it's about because its the best...2 seasons down bring on a third!
Well my time is running out and I need to gp make myself look decent for work today...
Nothing too new to report on the wedding front...still no colors...but i'm coming up with fun ideas for favors possibly...don't know if it'll fly but we'll see... thanks Jacinta for the web-sites I checked them out and they're great...I enjoy The Knot!
Jacob's third birthday is tommorow...I'll be taking some pictures so expect to hear all about it!
Julia's birthday dinner is also coming up this weekend and I am super excited! It's going to be a fun night...
Hope you are all having a great week...keep posting!!

I've been engaged for almost 2 weeks...

So it's been almost two weeks since Brandon and I became engaged and boy has it been fun! Everyone has been super supportive and excited for us. The day we got engaged I had to go to work, but it was fun to surprise everyone with the news, I had lots of friends visiting that day it was awesome, and man does my ring sure sparkle under all the store lights. I had a tonne of e-mails and face book messages of Congratulations that I got to respond to...I love all my friends. This is a picture of how i opened my ring with the little note tucked inside. I had a little photo shoot with my ring...I know I'm a geek!ha ha...

The past two Sundays have been a blast getting to share the news and talk weddings with all the gals who have gotten married, I appreciate all their advice sooo much and I'm sure I'll be asking them many more questions in the coming weeks!! What was great the first Sunday, was that all three of my future sister-in-laws (Meaghan, Chelsey and Brittany) were all in Halifax for church so they got to see the ring and we had some girl chats...I'm such a lucky girl I'm marrying into an awesome family- so now not only will I have my great family but I'll have Brandon's too...I couldn't ask for anything sweeter!!

Last Wednesday was a blast at school...I guess no one had noticed my ring until my last class of the day, I left early so no one got to ask anything...so Lisa came up to me in the hall Wednesday and asked if I was engaged and she heard the whole story. Then Amanda comes into the class that Brandon and I have together and is super excited yelling congratulations. So she told everyone which was too funny...at this point in the day no other guys but Brandon were in class so he had to put up with all the excited girls!! It was really sweet, he didn't want everyone at school to know at first, so later on in the day I apologized for everyone knowing and he said that it was okay because he got to see how happy it made me...what a guy!! That's one reason why I love him so much, he's a definite sweetie!!

Survivor Night was Thursday and as always we had a fun time...the girls finally got to see my ring. What was a big surprise was when Natalie walked in the door and surprised us all...she took pictures of me and my ring, I'll have to get them from her. So the five of us had a fun night chatting and laughing...Greys' was great as always and no survivor this week...it had a little break and will be back on this week (Wednesday actually but we are watching it tonight) It looks super good!! I was super excited because Kerry's mom let me borrow her Martha Stewart wedding book it's so big and beautiful I love it!!!!

Friday my little friend Brayden got Baptized at church, it was such a special night for him and his family. There were moments when I started tearing up!! It was a beautiful event filled with love. I taugh brayden in Sunbeams when he was three and we've stayed great buddies over the past five years!! He is the sweetest little guy! After the baptism mom and I jetted over to dartmouth for Kathy's Pampered Chef Party...we were there just in time for food, it was delicious!! It was great to visit with everyone, I ordered a food chopper, which everyone says is amazing!! I got to finally see sonja, she hadn't seen my ring on me yet so we were super excited. She'd been away in Utah for 2 weeks, I missed her like crazy, so it's nice to have her back home. She went to visit the sister missionary that taught her about the church they've become great friends and took some adorable pictures of there kids together...here are two of them...

There are some other super cute ones but I still have much more to write. So the party was fun...Leslie Fraser was there and she is just too funny...soooo excited for the wedding...she kept calling me Mrs.Bing.hahha!! I finally got to see Brandon's mom for the first time since everything became official it was great to see her and chat she is such a sweetie! I got to hold ethan for a bit tonight too, i sure did miss him, he looks so much bigger now and get this he has his two bottom teeth, next time i see him I'm going to take pictures!!

Hmm....what else...this week has been hectic with papers due and tests, but Brandon and I are surviving. We went to Scanway this week and booked our cake. We have to go in the beginning of April for some taste testing and choosing everything about it which gives me not much time to decide on colors...you'd think picking colors would be easy but it's not, it's constantly on my mind...but i need to choose soon any suggestions would be great! Brandon and I have to figure out what we want the cake to look like...the one Brandon likes we call the mad hatter cake from scanway, it's beautiful but it's like a 700 dollar cake...I had to lay down the law and say no to that...we were not going to spend that much on a cake. We;re putting money aside each week to go toward the cake, that way when it comes time to pay for that we'll have our money all ready!! That's been the big bulk of wedding plans. I've been looking at dresses on line it's just so hard to decide...again any suggestions would be great. I have to get my ring sized soon, I'm just not ready to part with it yet!! haha...I'm so silly I take it off whenever i get a shower or wash my hands, just so it'll stay sparkly and new!

Margot is a Mommy!! I had to share the latest baby news, my friend Margot and her husband Christopher welcomed their first baby into the world this month...Autumn Ketzali Wennerholm was born on March 15th at 12:09 am! She weighed 7 lbs 5 ounces and was 21 inces long. Mommy says they are all doing great and that Autumn has lots of dark hair and blue eyes. I'm super excited for the newly expanded family...they need to come visit so I can meet their little cutie!!

Last night Brandon and I went to a pre-screening of the new movie Shooter staring Mark Wahlberg... We got the tickets free at Roots again...I'm loving all these free movies!! Brandon was able to figure out the movie pretty quickly because he loves movies, I was impressed! We both enjoyed the movie...I actually really liked it, it was an interesting story line and quite thrilling. Violent but you kinda guess that from the name of the movie! What made it even better was that mark walhberg is quite the cutie in it...he even looks good in camo face paint!! I would recommed this one for sure!!!
Here is what the movie is about, I got this off the empire theatre web-site...

Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahlberg) is a former Marine Corps sniper who thought he had walked away from the job forever after a devastating betrayal. Now, despite having sequestered himself in a remote mountain hideaway, Bob is approached by retired Colonel Isaac Johnson (Danny Glover), who tells him the country desperately needs him. As Johnson tells it, an assassination attempt on the President of the United States is imminent and only Swagger's lethal skills and savvy expertise in long-range ballistics can halt the threat.
Swagger reluctantly agrees one last time to serve his country -- but what he doesn't know is that the entire mission is a set-up by a dark government cabal with its own agenda. By the time Swagger realizes the event has been rigged, it's too late. Suddenly, he finds himself in the headlines as the lone gunman who tried to shoot the President.
Hunted at every turn, with nowhere to hide and no one to help him except a mystified woman he's just met (Kate Mara) and a novice FBI agent risking his career (Michael Peña), Swagger is in a desperate battle which will put everything he knows to the test. The clock is ticking as he tries to figure out who the real hit men are before they hit him. But Swagger soon realizes even more than his own survival is at stake -- because he's about to lift the veil off a devastating conspiracy at the very heart of American power.
What was fun about the movie is that adrain, his girlfriend Sarah, Terri and her husband Ben were all there and we got to sit together is was a blast!
Well I think those are the main things that have been happening this week...it's been super fun being engaged, and I cannot wait to be married!! If I've forgotten anything I will post it up soon, I'm off to survivor/girls night...should be a blast s always!
Hope you are all doing great and that you made it through this massive post!!
Oh and thanks Julia for keeping me on top of posting this week, you are the best, as soon as school is done we are hanging out!!!

We're getting Married!!!

WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been waiting for so long to get to tell the world this and last night it finally happened...and boy was I surprised! Brandon and I have known that we were getting married for awhile and have been planning things, so it all came down to when we were going to get engaged to make it official...so I'll tell you quickly how it happened...

First I should tell another little story...so maybe a year ago Brandon and I were going to hangout and he was running a bit late because he was at the mall buying I think Jeans...so he calls me on my cell phone and says he's on his way and that he bought be a present...so I'm all excited wondering what it could be. When he gets to my house he hands me a GAP bag and I'm thinking oh he bought me a shirt or something like that cool....I open it up and there are socks!! thoughtful but who buys socks as a surprise present, so I thanked him but said that socks are not a present, but that it was sweet of him!

So back to last night, I hadn't been feeling great yesterday I have a cold and it's really hit me hard yesterday, I went home from work and while I was waiting for Brandon to show I laid in bed and watched 90210. When I had talked to Brandon he said he'd be over in about an hour, we were going to go out to a movie. So that's at about 6pm...by 9pm I was starting to get a little upset, when he called and said he was on his way he was just going to pick a movie up...9:50pm he finally shows up and I was not impressed, I was pretty upset because I didn't feel well and I'd been waiting up for him. When I asked him to explain why he was late he couldn't really give me a reason. So we get some ice cream and watch the movie which was a cute movie...definitely more a chick flick then something he would normally pick. I stayed kinda bummed at him all night, but when it's time for him to go we made up and it was all better. I explain to him that he should just call if he's going to be late. So he gives me a big hug and tells me that when he leaves I should go right to bed, he said this a few times. So i go upstairs and am just putting a few things away in my room when I look on my bed and there is a GAP bag sitting on it- I'm thinking random that wasn't there before. So I go and pick it up and pull what's inside out, and it's socks- one's that I actually was going to buy before- so I'm like oh that's sweet of him- then I realize that there is a box inside of one of the socks...so I pull it out, open it and there is my beautiful ring with a little note inside of it that says,

"I know socks are not that romantic, so I have decided to add a little something. P.S= call my cell. I love you so much."

So I immediately searched like a crazy lady for my cell phone and called him. I asked him where he was and he said he was out in his car. I of course grabbed my camera and ran downstairs. He came back into the house and i gave him the biggest hug and he asked me to marry him...of course I was a little teary and of course said yes, and he put the ring on my finger. I think my smile was from ear to ear I was so excited. I was definitely surprised, he explained to me finally the reason he was so late...he'd been at the mall searching for something else he wanted to use to propose but couldn't find it and that's when he remembered the whole sock story from before, and set it all up the very sneaky guy. I of course felt so bad that I had been so upset with him most of the night. He laughed because he said it added even more to his surprise!!

I am just so excited to marry Brandon, I cannot wait until he is my husband and I can see him every day. I just love him so much and he makes me so happy!

It's nice because I can finally share my excitement and the plans we are making. Things are actually really coming along, we've booked our reception spot and the temple...we'll be getting married August 4th, 2007 at 2pm...write it down in your calendars!!!!!

Don't look at the pictures too close, I look a mess, just remeber I am sick with a cold in them!!hahha!!

Claudine's Coming to Visit...

Okay so this is a super old picture of Claudine but she looked so pretty I thought I'd use it anyway!! So I'm sitting here in my room tonight trying to study as my sister's high school basketball team is downstairs yelling like crazy people when the phone rings. So I answer it along with someone else which makes it's super extra noisey, but I finally figure out it's for me and it's Claudine all the way from out west which was such an amazing surprise. What's even better is that she told me tonight that her and her adorable family (Graeme and Baby Declan) will be coming to visit for the month of August- so I am super excited! We're going to have so much fun when she's here- I've missed her a bunch!! I'll have to get her to send me a picture of her little guy so you can see him- he's a cutie!! anyway just thought I'd share my excitement of the night!!! Hope everyone had a Happy Monday!!

A Week in Review

Well first of all to start I have to Congratulate Josh and Julia on their new car, I'm so excited for them. It sounds like they had quite the time getting it all set up, so it must be nice to finally have their new car at home. Julia's blog was too fun to read about it all!! Lucky ducks won't have to take the bus as much now- such an added bonus!!! Julia, between us both having access to cars now, we'll have to do something, as soon as school settles down.

This week at school has been one of settling back into the swing of things again. It's been a challenge since I still have a cold, but I'm surviving. I had a presentation in class on Wednesday and all went well, the responses that my prof sent back were all very positive. Luckily Brandon is in that class with me so I know he'd tell me the truth if I totally sucked!

School is reaching the home stretch soon, and it's easy to tell because I have to much work to do and I'm not really sure where to start. I wrote up a list today of all that I had due over the next like month and it's pretty scary- I will be hiding away in my room writing like crazy from now on!! But some how I know I'll get it all done! I'll just be such a happy camper when mid April hits!

I'm a little nervous for this Sunday, because I am filling in teaching in Primary for Jessica. She teaches the 11 year old girls- I'm so not used to teaching kids that big. Give me a sunbeam to teach and I'm set, but 11 year old girls, it should be interesting. I'll let you know how that one goes!!hahha!!!

What would be a Blog without my usual survivor update...Survivor night was a blast as always we played a game of cranium turbo...Kerry, Laura and I vs. Nicole and Natalie...the team of three won it was all very exciting. Seriously if you have never played cranium turbo you have not experience real cranium it is soooo fun, i so want to buy it. The girls gave Nicole her birthday gift last night, which she loved, mine will be a little late for her but it's coming!! Today is her actual birthday- Happy Birthday Nicole.

Survivor was amazing as always, I was quite excited at my Relief Society meeting to find out that Nancy watches survivor too- it excites me when i find people who still watches it like i do. This week our tribe continued to loose, they seemed close at once but no luck. What worked for our tribe was that sadly Papa Smurf (Gary?) had to leave the game due to health problems which sucks. The Immunity challenge was quite interesting, although our tribe lost, the other winning tribe was faced with the decision to keep their comfy camp or to lose on of their tribe mates- the greedy people decided to keep their luxary. So now the tribe numbers are even which is great, but our favorite tribe is still lacking food. Its been an interesting season so far with one tribe living with nothing while the other tribe has it all. One more thing to mention, my favorite guy Yau Man survived a trip to exile island and is still going strong in the game!!

Let's see, it's been a busy week... Congratulations to go out to Brant and Melissa Quist on the birth of their daughter this week and also Congratulation to Donnie and Karlee Allred on the birth of their little boy Tate. Kristi has some cute pictures of him up on her blog. Both babies weighed over 9 pounds- craziness- I thought that only happened in my family!!

I think that's it for now...but I'll be sure to post more if I think of it...hope you are all doing great and surviving this storm...I'm getting back to work on my paper that's due monday and then it can be crossed off the list!! woohoo!!!
