Life has been busy but GOOD!

So school ends and you'd think life would slow down... but that is so not the case...it's been another busy week for me, so let me share my week and all my fun updates with everyone...

Monday... I've decided this week that I really want to get wedding plans going full steam ahead. So this morning I worked on the web-site Brandon and I will be using as one of our RSVP methods...when it's more complete I'll post the site so everyone can check it out...still a work in progress. I did this also because we needed the in for for our invitation. Sonja and Ethan came over this morning and we headed out with my mom to the fabric store to look at patterns for the bridesmaids dresses and my nieces. We found some really cute patterns for both, although I want to see if Laureen will come with us to pick out material since she's an awesome sewer and would know what would be good. But we are one step closer to having those decisions made...I think if the girls dresses turn out cute I might get one made for myself, that's how much i love the pattern, definitely something they can wear again!!

Brandon came over afterwards and we headed out to look at invitations. It took us almost two hours to finally get it all figured out, but the decision has been made and ordered. We really didn't want a classic invite, we were looking for something a little different and a little more fun, and I think we found it. The only thing is that there is green on the invite, but I think i can work green in throughout the wedding and it'll all be great. I'm totally all about a color scheme, so I find it hard to pull away from it- so far so good though! I have to thank Meaghan (my awesome future sister in law) and her sweet boyfriend Jason, as a wedding present they offered to pay for our invitations, which was so generous of them and so greatly appreciated!!! I am a very lucky girl to be marrying into such a sweet and supportive family. She even gave me a really cute card, which is definitely going into the scrapbook I plan to make of the wedding and everything leading up to it!!
After invitations we headed to Sears to register, which took a LONG time and we are still not done...we are also registering at Walmart because they have a few things that Sears does not. It was a challenge making color decisions for our future home but we are working it all out!
After a long day of running around we took the night to cuddle and just relax from a busy day- I got to watch dancing with the Stars (Way to go Apollo and Julianne) and also the Bachelor...Andy Baldwin...total stud check it out girls he's a cutie!! Brandon is a good guy letting me watch all those shows while he's over...but don't worry we watched some Sopranos for him!!
Tuesday and Wednesday... Nothing too exciting happened...I worked and hung out at home both days...at work I set up the new yoga windows which look great, which they should seeing as they took almost all day. Brandon's mom's birthday was on Wednesday- Happy Birthday Laureen!!!! I also was playing with my digital camera which I have almost had for a year when I figured out some of the functions that I never knew existed. What i was most excited about was the fact that I could take a clear picture of my ring!! So I thought I'd post my favorite picture that I took that night... I know you can't see it looking down but I feel that you can tell that they are a princess cut diamond! I love my ring so much Brandon did very well...I still need to get it sized, I just don't want to part with it yet...once all our wedding appointments are done then I will take it in to get it sized!! Oh I also remembered that Brandon had called me today from Canadian tire because he found a kitchen-aid pot set on sale from like 500...to 170...how awesome is that...he picked them up because it was a great deal and they are red...we've decided to have a red theme in the kitchen so they work perfectly. Eventually we want to get really good Paderno pots but for now these will be perfect! Good find hunny!!!!

Thursday... another FUN day at Roots...I got to work with Maria who is one of my favorite people to work with...we hadn't worked together since last Saturday so we had some catching up to do! Which we were able to do in the first like two hours since the day was dead...surprisingly though it picked up and we had a great day in sales.
Sonja and Ethan picked me up from work tonight...Ethan was a little charmer as always. We went home and the kids were over, Ethan got hugs first and then I got all my bear hugs from Kathy's kids...they give the best hugs. So we had some fun eating dinner with them. The girls are so adorable around Ethan they just love to be right next to him to hug and kiss him...I'm sure being around baby Ethan makes them even more excited for Kathy's new baby to arrive...speaking of Kathy's new baby I'm about ready for this baby to enter our family...it's killing me not knowing what the baby is...I'm so excited to get to hold a new baby all over again...I love it and cannot wait for a new niece or nephew!!
Sonja, Ethan and I went to survivor/girls night which was fun as always. They girls love seeing Ethan, especially Nicole. She is so awesome around kids...she gets right down on the floor and plays with them. Ethan was showing us how he kind of crawls backwards, which meant he crawled right under the couch practically. The four of us girls and Ethan played a round of cranium turbo which is the best...Kerry and Nicole Won!! We had to take off a little early tonight because Ethan wasn't feeling great but nic and ker called and gave me the update to the end of survivor, I missed such a good one, but it's not the end of the world because I can download it on the computer and watch it!!What was great about it tonight was, just when we thought out guys (Yau-Man and Earl) could be in trouble because numbers were against them...they figure it out and not only boot off someone in the other alliance but they also get the immunity idol played...it sounded amazing.
Just wanted to mention...hooray for grey's being back on, another great episode...I hope that izzy gets to meet her daughter and that McDreamy won't do anything stupid when it comes to mer...one last grey's note...how cute was Addison when she goes up to the chief in the bar and helps him out and gets him up dancing I LOVED that moment in the show!! Oh and here are a few pics I took of ethan...the black and white one is kinda cool because I made his shirt still look green...ohh the magic of the digital camera!!

Friday... which would be today was my other day off for the week, and it was just as busy as monday...Brandon came over at 8am when he got off work, to grab some sleep before we had to go work out our cake. While he slept I drove out to meet my newest house sitting friend...Her name is Candy and she is the cutest little dog ever...Debbie had warned me that she was a little feisty, perhaps she was mis-treated before debbie took her in... anyway she was great around me...Teddy the other dog bugs her sometime but she keeps him in line. We went for a nice walk and took in the beautiful day!

At 1pm we headed down to scanway to meet with the pastry chef to talk cake. She was so awesome and offered good suggestions and comments. We also got to sample cake which was delicious which made it hard to decide. Our cake is going to be three layers...top and bottom will be a lemon raspberry cake and the middle layer is marble cake....Yum!! The cake isn't a traditional wedding cake, we really wanted something fun, and I think everyone will be surprised, but we are so happy with our decision and it'll fit right into the color scheme and whole fun attitude that we want our wedding to have. i have to make sure get lots of pictures of the cake because it should be really cool.

We checked out our invitation proof and all went well, so they are officially ordered...we still need to get a picture taken of us to put with the invites. The girl at the invitation store commented on how organized I am with my wedding binder, I'll have to take pictures sometime soon of it...anyway I felt so good about it, and then to make it even better Brandon agreed and said how nice ti was to be with someone so organized- it was super sweet of him...what can I say i just like to be organized!!

We went through the car wash this afternoon which was a blast and of course we took pictures...the one of myself didn't turn out bright enough but here is Brandon in the car was and a shot of him and i together...

We went to Walmart this afternoon to register, but of course the little machine wasn't working. we did do a walk through and found a few things that were on our register list, so hopefully next time we go it'll be all up and running so we can get that checked off the list of wedding things to do!! We relaxed the rest of the afternoon and ordered some pizza for dinner which was soooo delicious!
One last wedding update...I talked to the photographer that did Kristine and Davis' wedding as well as Adam and Jenn's wedding...and he's free on the fourth and can do our wedding...which is also a relief...I want good pictures so I feel much better having Ian booked! Thanks Kristine for all the help in that department.
Well I hope you enjoyed my update...I know it's a lot of reading but it's been a busy week! Everyone keep posting as much as you can I love reading them!! hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy the awesome weather that we'll hopefully have!!!!

Wedding Update...

So Brandon and I are officially done school... no marks back yet but I'm sure we'll have done great. We are both enjoying being done, by relaxing and not doing too much, but that will all be changing next week as the wedding plans start for real. We have quite a bit done, but now we start getting into the finer details.

I think I have solved my color problem...I always thought I wanted Turquoise, white and brown, but then I didn't think I would find fun flowers to have with that color scheme...so then I started thinking about purples and a little pink, maybe some light blue, because there were invitations that I kinda liked in those colors. But...on Wednesday I was trying on some old shirts, trying to decide what to keep and what to toss, when I came across a polo that I had bought in Florida (trip 2) from Hollister. It was not fitting properly because the style back then were much shorter shirts, and I was preparing to part with it when I realized I loved all those colors together and I though....hmmm color scheme.

Let me know what you think...I feel these colors are way more me then purples....plus they'd go nicely with the reception room. What I figure is that the bridesmaids would wear the pink colors...dark and light...then my flowers could be a combo of pinks, yellows, orange and white...plus then everything else would be worked around those colors as well. I feel theses colors offer me many options and look great together especially for a summer wedding. Plus for anyone with a a tan those colors would look awesome. So the next task is on Monday mom and I are going to go to the Fabric store to find material and a pattern for their dresses, and hopefully as well for my nieces too.

Also on Monday Brandon and I are going to my most favorite card store...Duly noted to look at invitations, and hopefully decide on one, so we can get that process going. We are trying to find a photographer right now...I really want beautiful pictures from the day, anyone that knows me wouldn't be surprised by that seeing as I always have my camera.

This week I ordered a table and four chairs from IKEA, so now Brandon and I will at least have a place to eat in out future home!!

Friday is another day off for me, and on that day we are going to go meet with the pastry chef at Scanway and talk about our cake, which will hopefully work into our color scheme. When I called them today they asked if we'd like to sample the cake...silly question I think why wouldn't someone want to taste yummy delicious cake!!

So those are the plans so far. I bought two more wedding magazines this week...it's so sad I cannot help myself...I love wedding magazines...plus it's nice to actually have a real reason to buy them. I bought one once way before i was engaged and the guy congratulated me at the register...I told him I wasn't engaged I just like to think about the future...I wish I could run into him again so he could ask me the same question, this time I'd just have a way better answer!!

I think that is it for the wedding plans updates, hope you all enjoyed and let me know what you think of my colors...I appreciate all insights. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that you'll all post soon, I need something to read!

Roots Newsletter....Check it out!

Okay so here is another quick post, I wanted to be in bed right now, but I received an e-mail that made me excited!

So Roots has this newsletter, it is sent out to all the stores across the country every two weeks. They update us on all the new and exciting things going on in the company and there are pictures.

So Maria that I work with sent me the online link, because not only am I in it, because of this fashion show we helped out in (I kinda look fat but what can you do)...but so is sonja's little guy-Ethan.

Like two weeks ago sonja came to survivor night with me and we took some pictures of Ethan in the roots shirt I had given him forever ago...I thought it would be fun to send one in to see if they'd put it in and they did!! Click on the link below to see us both!!

http://www.cachelan.com/WebFilm/modules/albums/album.php?aid=tCgKYvCHF1XVn2KQ5CcetAn4OlDI2D1t&view=VT&bgc=0&sd=7&hq=gp

When the site opens, it'll say Read the Latest News of what is happening at ROOTS, below the arrow is a box, with issue 70 in it...click on that and the source should hopefully open...scroll down and you'll eventually see Ethan and I.

If that doesn't work...go to www.roots.com and scroll down until you see The Source...click on it and a simpler version will open...scroll to the bottom and you'll see a list, click on the one that says Speak to my agent or something like that and you'll see Ethan's photo! Hope they work!

Just wanted to share the excitement of my evening!! So check it out!!

P.S Totally forgot to mention...

I totally forgot to mention when I talked about Monday that the roses are from Brandon. He didn't want me to mention it when I remembered I hadn't put it, because it was only three roses. He wanted to find a dozen but the place he went was out. I told him it's three for the three years we've been together!! I thought it was really sweet of him and a nice eater surprise- what girl wouldn't love being surprised with any flowers randomly! What a Guy!! He surprised me last night too, and came over after dropping off his paper. He has his last exam today and then wedding planning kicks into high gear! We had a nice night just watching TV...I'd like to announce that all my dancing with the stars favorites made it through this week...no surprise!! Anyway I have to go get myself ready for work, I've had three nice days off so it is hard to go back! Just wanted to add my P.S

A Week or so in REVIEW!!

Okay so it's been a little while since I posted and I'd like to say sorry for that!! It's been a busy week...finishing school, working, weddings, Easter, finishing last papers, but it is all done now and I could not be more happy!! So here is a little review of my week!!

Okay so classes finished on Wednesday thankfully...we had a really hard last test in Shakespeare which sucked but oh well it's all over now! It was nice to come back to the house and just relax and watch TV, which is exactly what Brandon and I did...I do think that I have maybe found a wedding dress I was on the computer while Brandon snoozed and I think I found it...it's a similar fit to Sonja's wedding dress which is good since I tried hers on. It has some beading and sparkle which I like but it isn't too crazy...plus Sonja's veil and headpiece would work well which would be the something borrowed...if you want to check it out, I'd love to hear what you think. Go to... http://www.latterdaybride.com/ and go to the wedding dress section...then click on tulle and then hit San Diego and that is what I'm leaning towards!!

Thursday night was Jenn and Adams wedding reception which was really nice. I felt bad that they had such horrible weather but it didn't matter they had a great day and looked so happy! Their reception was at the Holiday Inn Harbour View, which was a really nice spot. They started the evening with a ring exchange ceremony, Jenn's parents got to walk her down the aisle which was cute. She looked beautiful in a dress that her new sister-in-law Julia made for her with a long veil...definitely good for walking up the aisle- great picture opportunity! They had a receiving line which Sonja and I did together since our guys disappeared. The reception was really great, everyone was able to just mingle, visit and eat...I got to chat with lots of people so I was happy! Kristine and Davis were in town for the wedding which was awesome, I love seeing those two I cannot wait until they move here!! Kristiane was in for the wedding too, all we have to do now is convince her to move back home and we'll be set! They had live music, which was a blast the guy was a lot of fun, little akayjah was loving dancing to the music. The night was beautiful and Adam and Jenn looked so Happy, I cannot wait until August when Brandon and I can have a wonderful night like they did...so excited! Here are a few more pictures I took at the wedding reception, hope you enjoy! To see the rest check out facebook!!!

Can I just mention as well that Ashley and Julia both sported new do's tonight and they looked amazing! Check out Julia's blog for more pictures, I just wanted them to know how awesome they both looked tonight!!

I was a little bummed because I had to miss girls night, but it was a nice reception so it was okay...i taped survivor and watched it the next morning before work...Yau Man is still holding strong which is awesome...he is adorable and smart, watch out all you other survivors, Yau is one to watch!!!

Friday was Good Friday...and it was a Good one for me. I worked some of the day on my last history paper which proved to be a bit more of a challenge, but oh well I worked it out. Brandon called me mid afternoon to tell me that we were going out to dinner that night with his family. So I had little time to get ready but managed to make myself look pretty good...Brandon doesn't like my hair curled but oh well what can you do! The Bings picked me up and we headed downtown to the Delta Halifax for dinner...we had quite a large table, which was fun. There was Peter and Laureen, Chelsey and Brittany, Brandon and myself and Meaghan and her new boyfriend Jason, who is really nice! We had such a yummy dinner...I had some steak sliced upon mashed sweet potatoes, with some veggies and a corn fritter type thing...oh my gosh just remembering it makes me hungry. Brandon made me try one of the appetizers he ordered which were muscles...not my favorite, but not as bad as I thought it would be. Even though it drives me crazy when he makes me eat new things, I love that he does make me try...that's another reason I love this guy! Dessert was great...when is dessert not great. We had a lovely evening eating and joking around and spending time with his family. i am definitely lucky, I am marrying into a wonderful family! We went out tonight to celebrate a few things, Laureen had taken a dance exam which went well, which is awesome...congratulations. We also were celebrating the engagement which was super sweet of them!! Brandon and rented a movie that night...we were going to get The Holiday since the pursuit of happiness wasn't in...but then they had a copy of The Good Shepherd, so we swapped for that since I knew Brandon would rather see that one...well that was a huge mistake and I think Brandon would tell you that too....it was just an okay kinda blah movie...and on top of that it was three hours long-BRUTAL! But we got to suffer together so we can't complain too much!

The picture was taken after dinner...I'm all about having lots of pictures of Brandon and I together, they are fun to look back on. I thought we looked really cute Friday night and we co-ordinated pretty well...it's actually a nice photo for both of us, which is always a plus. I'm pretty good at smiling on cue, but Brandon not so much, we'll have to work on that quite a bit before the wedding:)

Sunday was Easter, we had a nice family breakfast and looked at our Easter baskets. Mike had stayed the night since Keah had to work that night, so we almost had the whole fam that morning...well siblings...we missed you Kathy. That night we had a delicious Easter Turkey Dinner...mom always does a great job. Uncle Bill and Aunt Julia came in for the meal and it was filled with laughter and great times. We surprised mike tonight with a birthday cake. Mom wasn't sure if he'd be around on his birthday since Mike and Keah are going on School trip to Quebec...turns out that he will be so we'll have more cake on mike and kathy's real birthday! I took a few pictures of the soon to be 30 year old. I call this one brotherly love...I feel you really sense that by the smile and the knife pointing towards laura...hahha!!! I worked some more on my paper that night and then relaxed and watched some Making of the next Doll- they are searching for a new pussycat doll...it's a stupid show but still entertaining!!

Easter Monday... I had the day off to finish my paper up, and I DID!!!!! My last university paper is finished!!!!! I don't know if it is any good but i don't care, what matters is that it is finished!!!! I can't wait to hand it in tomorrow and be finished with it. Then the wedding plans can take full force!! So Brandon picked me up in the afternoon because we were going to be having Easter dinner at his home tonight. We stopped at Zellers to buy some Rubbermaid containers and then onto the house. Dinner was so good as always...Laureen is an amazing cook...she does his cherry sauce for Ham which is so yummy and her rolls are my favorite! After dinner we all went to the basement and watched some old home movies...Let me just tell you they were hilarious! I haven't laughed that much in forever. Brandon is too cute in them, running around with a super soaker, doing impressions. We watched some as old at 87...Chelsey is just a tiny new baby in them, and Jaccob is always wearing these mickey mouse ears. It was too cute. We watched some TV with Meaghan and Jason tonight too, which was fun, they are really cute together!! Brandon still have one more paper and an exam on Wednesday, so I don't know if I'll see him tomorrow but we had a really nice eater weekend together, which was great, although next Easter will be really fun because we'll be married then!! Ahhh I cannot wait!

I think that is all the update action that I have for now...Kristi I hope this gave you a good read, we miss you lots here, but love the belly pictures...you are looking so cute! Claudine Congratulations, you'll be an auntie to a little girl that is so exciting, now there will be a grandson and granddaughter!! Kathy you really need to have your baby soon, not knowing is killing me even more now!! Anyway hope everyone has a GREAT week!! Keep those posts coming because I check them daily!!
