Now that I look at the particular picture I wonder if she was thinking about what she was going to do when we got to church this past week. We only went to sacrament meeting today because we both had the sniffles and we didn't want to share them with the other kids in nursery. We sat in the back row of all the pews, with auntie Sarah and uncle Jaccob. Olivia sat on my lap playing with stickers, Alex Hay was passing our row the sacrament, he came from behind us so Olivia couldn't see him coming. So there she was sitting there quietly when a tray of bread appeared in front of her. Well you would think we had just placed a tray if candy in front of her, the squeal of pure joy that came from her little body was so funny, she squealed and smiled the biggest smile, took her piece of bread and made a "mmmmm" sound... Seriously kiddo the entire chapel is pretty quiet and she does that, the three adults in the row had to try all we could do not to laugh. A few minutes later Alex brings the tray of water and bam Olivia has the same excited reaction... It was so funny!! I am not doing it justice but it was such a hoot! Such a little lady- hahah!

Mommy daughter fun day!
I felt a cold coming on last week so we stayed in on Friday and I felt so bad, Olivia didn't mind we played, cuddled, watched TV and did some water color painting but I still felt bad that she was inside alllllllll day. I did spend a bit more time laying on the sofa then I would like, but with Brandon away for the weekend I had no choice. The mommy guilt was heavy on me all day, so I decided that no matter how I was feeling we were having a FUN Saturday together... And that's what we did.
Olivia found my stash of "Tricia" headbands, that's what I like to call them because my sweet friend Tricia made them. Olivia loved wearing them most of the morning and most of the time I got to wear one too, or maybe even two or three. She must have sensed we were having a fun day so she woke up at seven, I know for some people that would be amazing but for Olivia that's early... And I was up late the night before. Oh well we had fun relaxing in the early morning before heading out to our first stop.
Our first stop doubled as a fun outing and exercise for momma...at 9:30am it was already a hot day. This was Olivia's first trip to Point Pleasant Park, and I was excited to take her... Too bad the cranky bug decided to bite her and sucked the fun out of that walk. I don't know if she just didn't want to be in her stroller or she had tummy pains but something was up. From her first picture posted you can see she was an angel right from the start- oh my! This was probably her longest fit out of them all, a good 20-25 minutes of screaming, crying, and kicking in her stroller. I felt bad for everyone trying to have a peaceful walk, because Olivia wasn't having that.
She was happy for a few minutes when she was free to roam, she went right towards where the dogs were, and then towards the water. We held hands and walked towards it, but walking on the rocks was not enough she wanted in, and I know that water in not swim worthy but she didnt understand that, and the fit hit full capacity, as I carried her away from the water.
Don't think our whole day was rotten, this was the worst of it and it was only 10 in the morning. As I pushed her through the maze of paths in the park trying to get to the car, she eventually wore herself out and stopped throwing her fit. She was allowed out of her stroller had a snack, a drink and then turned into the royal queen of the park waving and saying hello to every person and dog that walked by. We left the park as friends again.
Since my sweet angel had returned, I decided we were close to down town we would try to go to he public gardens if we could find parking, which we did! We didn't stay long but Olivia had a blast, she could follow pigeons all day!! She enjoyed seeing pigeons, ducks and geese. She loved all the flowers and fixtures in the park.
We headed out and again as you can see above she didnt want to leave... I feel the above picture truly shows the joys of motherhood, and I wouldn't have it any other way. By the time we reached home she was sound asleep!! Nap time was pure bliss!
We had a quick errand to run so we continued fun mommy daughter day with a trip to Susie's Shortbread, little miss got her very own cupcake...she was pumped, maybe more so by the straw in it, but never the less pumped. For those wondering hers was cream soda flavoured! That's why it had a straw since it is a soda pop flavour. I couldn't get it to her little mouth fast enough... Don't worry she didn't eat it all. I had amazing pineapple soda there too, Laura and Kathy made Keah and I jealous with their pineapple jones soda out west, so I was pumped to see this and share the news! Olivia even got her picture with their mascot... That was super stressful!
We hit the pool after our treat and gosh darn it she looked adorable in her little suit... and of course she pooped in her swimmer while we swam... Changing a wet baby is fun! She wore a little life jacket in the pool today and loved riding on the foam rafts they had in the pool. She would climb all over it, lay on her belly and then try to drink the pool water. I don't know what's up with this kid but she loves to drink pool water and lick everything around. Oh Olivia! She did some solo swimming on her back and is a champion kicker! I am hoping to get her started in swimming lessons in the fall.
We had stopped by to see poppy but he wasn't home so he messaged us later and when he heard we were going to get a happy meal he had a better idea- he took us out to Jack Astors which was really appreciated! We had a few minutes to get prettier after the pool and then we had a yummy dinner. Olivia even ate some of her chicken strips. She enjoyed colouring on her placemat with pop! Thanks dad for treating us to a nice night out- we love you lots!!

Fitness and friends... Two great things that start with f!!
Wednesday July 3, 2013
I think what makes hitting the gym easier is that Brandon is fully supportive. He wants me to use our gym membership and get in shape so I can run and play with Olivia... Which I can right now, don't get me wrong it's not that much weight on, but you know what I mean. I love coming home and seeing what they have been up to while I am gone... This past week I came home to find them watching sleeping beauty.... How sweet is that!!
On Wednesday I had the chance to go to a baby shower for a friend of mine from elementary school, Meghan. She currently lives in the states but was home for a visit with her sweet husband Tyson. Her mother lives in a really cute neighbourhood in Bedford, and had a really lovely baby shower. Delicious snacks, fun games and great company. I always love a girls night out, we all drove to the shower together so it was nice to have some catch up time. I am blessed and I know I always say this, but I am blessed to have these ladies in my life- such wonderful friends!!

I can't believe it has been a YEAR!
I have become one of those bloggers I never wanted to be, one that gets lazy and never updates and then their blog sinks lower and lower on the update list until its been YEARS! I have officially not touched my blog in a year and that makes me sad. I wanted to record more Olivia memories when she was born, I had all these great intentions and they didn't happen. Baby came and life got busy and momma got tired when she went back to work and the blog became a non priority.
I love my sister Laura's blog- sometimes her posts are long sometimes they are short but what I love is that she updates. So today on this the anniversary of my last blog post I have decided to try to blog again. I am not putting an expectation on myself, just a hope to blog when I can. I recently got an iPad and with this great blogger app, I am hoping it will help.
My blog name I think might change to Insta-Bing... I love including pictures and so many of the will probably come from my iPad and from what I post on Instagram because they are usually a better representation of what we have been up to. So here is to a new blogging year. WISH ME LUCK!
Today was our country's birthday... Happy Canada Day! The weather was icky and we had to keep close to home with this new apartment job we are doing (more on that another time) so we didn't do anything too festive which makes me a bit sad. We did sport our Canada tee's today! Next year I hope to take Olivia out on the town- she will understand a bit more next year and will appreciate the festivities!
The weather did finally clear up so we headed out to enjoy the day and our beautiful country. We went for a bike ride, playground visit and to get a donut!! Olivia has a blast on the swings and playing with another little girl who was there today!
Olivia is 18 months now and is a hoot. She makes the funniest faces and dances like crazy. She is starting to say a few more words and likes to climb on EVERYTHING! She give amazing hugs and kisses and enjoys honking noses. She LOVES bubble guppies, the wiggles and Disney princesses... She loves to line up all her princess friends, and give them hugs. Right now she is moving pillows all around the living room, she is tired and ready for bed, but I just had to get things going again with my blog!
