22 weeks...

This week we hit 22 weeks, that's 5 and a half months, which is quite exciting. Every time we hit a new week we get one week closer to meeting our little baby and we cannot wait!

Last Sunday we had an EXCITING moment, well I did and then later Brandon got to experience it, I think. As I was laying watching TV I felt the baby kick- ON THE OUTSIDE! I've been feeling the baby move and kick for a few weeks now, but this was a bump that I could see on the outside, followed by like two more bumps, which was thrilling. Brandon was already at work, so I called him as fast as I could to share the news, he was pretty pumped. The baby did it a few more times that day and I LOVED every minute. Baby Bing has continued to kick away all week and I am still enjoying it, it's nice to know that baby is doing okay in there. I'm sure the kicks will get more uncomfortable, but I'm going to try to keep loving every movement of my baby!

The following day Brandon and I were watching a movie and Baby Bing was kicking again and I kept trying to get Brandon to feel the kick, I'm not 100% sure if he did, but he did say that he felt it, and I hope he did and he wasn't just humouring me. He's always cute touching my tummy and rubbing it saying hello to baby, he's going to be an adorable dad!

This week we ordered an armoire for the baby's room, it was a bit pricier then we maybe had wanted but it's a real wood armoire, with a few drawers and some shelves on the inside. It was worth the investment and will last us for a very long time and grow with our baby. It's getting stained right now, so it will be delivered in a few weeks. We cannot wait to start getting things into the baby's room. It will make it even more exciting and one step closer to baby coming!

This week also brought the O'Hearon four up to the city, it was great to see Mike, Keah, Finley and Emmy. It's been awhile since I have seen the girls, so it was a blast to spend a few days with them. It made me happy when they smiled and squealed when I came in the house, they might not of been doing it for me, but I'm going to say they were. I was even able to go out to dinner with them which was nice, I really enjoy spending time with my brother and Keah.

This visit I even got to have a FIRST... I got to babysit Finley on her own for the first time ever, with mom and dad out of town I finally got my chance and it was fantastic. Emmy had an appointment so Fin and I went for a walk up to a friends house who had just gotten back in town for a quick visit. She was a little angel, and we had a nice walk on a beautiful day.

I am learning that my iPhone will be a GREAT advantage when I have a baby, it's a great distraction. Finley didn't want to keep her hat on during our walk, so I gave her my phone playing some Justin Bieber and the hat was not an issue again!

When we got home Brandon who was mowing my parents lawn which was a fun challenge, was just finishing up, so we got to spend some time outside with Miss Emmy. Brandon gave her a dandelion and she was so cute holding onto it. She would give it to us and then take it back. I showed her how to smell a flower which was adorable. I love the group shot because of the two serious faces on Em and Brandon.

That night Brandon and I headed out to Bayers Lake to meet up with my sister-in-law Meaghan and her fan for a nice dinner out. We had some yummy Greek food from Ela, and did not leave hungry. It was so great to spend some time with Meaghan, Jason and Alexis- it's fun talking baby info talk with Meaghan since she is in the process of having her baby grow up. Alexis is about nine months now which is CRAZY. She is getting so big, and is a BUSY girl. Meaghan said that this week she started crawling, and I'm sure she will be running before we know it. She also recently got her first hair cut and it makes her look so much more grown up. The hair cut is adorable and her hair has lightened even more. She is growing up WAY too quickly!
Friday I had the day off so I headed into see the girls today and some special friends who were in town. Matt, Kristi and their adorable boys Isaiah and Elias are in town and it's so great to spend some time with them. They are just such genuine and caring people. They are friendly, funny and just so down to earth. I miss them living her, but heck if they can't live here at least they come for visits. We had a nice visit playing with kiddies, catching up and hearing funny stories.

Their little boys are adorable, and I think Finley and Emmy enjoyed meeting their new friends. Isaiah was so sweet with the girls and his baby brother. This little guy just cracks me up, we found lots of toys for him to play with and he told me about his bike. I had some pattern blocks out for him to play with, and I had only given him specific ones since we didn't want the babies to get the smaller blocks. Some how he got two blue ones and I looked at him and asked how he got them, his response, which I LOVE was "Magic"- this is so something I would say, it was super funny hearing it from a kid. He was sweet giving hugs and kisses when he left. I enjoy this little guy so much. Elias is just a chubby, happy baby, with the sweetest smile. So glad I was able to meet him! Can't wait for their next visit here and I'm glad Mike and Keah let me come in on the visit!
Other then that, we haven't been up to too much. This week brings our next doctor's appointment which is fantastic, I love going in and getting our baby checked out. This appointment will tell us how our ultrasound at the hospital went, fingers crossed all went well with it and that Baby Bing is healthy and growing the way he or she should.

The following week school starts again, although Brandon and I didn't get any terms yet, we are excited to get out there and start subbing again, hopefully we will both be kept busy early on into the year. I am getting excited to see some of my fav kiddies again, and to see their reaction to my pregnancy, since none of the kids knew, although some suspected it. I am also excited because on September 9th, which is so close we find out what gender Baby Bing is, I wanted to get it done before subbing got into full swing, so we find out the first week of school. We are BEYOND excited and ready to know who is in there kicking us!

I will add too that although I am LOVING having a car at my access, it's amazing not having to take the bus to work, I am missing my parents. They are having an amazing time on vacation and seeing the USA, looking super happy. It will be nice to have them back in town, to be able to call and chat with whenever. I will greatly miss the car especially as I get more pregnant but it'll be nice to have them home, sometime this week- we think!

21 weeks...

This week we reached 21 weeks in our pregnancy which is pretty excited, over half way there and other then being tired I am feeling pretty good. My belly is growing which is exciting, but I don't feel like I've put on too much extra weight else where, which also makes me happy. I'm sure that may change over the next few weeks, but that's life. I've been feeling the baby move a lot more which I LOVE... it's nice to know that baby is okay in there and moving around. Brandon hasn't been able to feel the baby kick yet, but I'm sure that day will come soon with the way this baby has been moving around inside. I'm loving every minute!

Monday brought our ultrasound at the hospital which was AMAZING... there is no other word to describe it but that. I'm a worrier, so although I had heard our baby's heart beat a few times, seeing our baby on the screen was great reassurance that everything is going well with our little one. The baby cooperated for most of the ultrasound, giving the technician all that she was needing. It was the last few shots of the day that she needed of the heart that got tricky, my belly button was getting in the way, since the baby was hiding behind it.

Brandon was adorable at the ultrasound, I'm sure he'd hate me using that word to describe him, but he was so into it. He was sitting next to me watching, picking out what he was seeing and asking questions. It was super sweet. I think seeing the baby on the screen made it more real for him. It made me so happy to see him so excited about the ultrasound. He was pretty tired and it was an early morning for us, so I know he wanted sleep, but he was amazing. I managed to survive the killer urge to go the washroom, luckily our technician was really sweet and kept checking with how my bladder was doing.

It was so wonderful to see our baby from head to toe, to know that it has all it's limbs, bones and fingers and toes. It was neat to see our baby moving around and using it's little spine. I think the moment Brandon thought was the coolest was when we could see both of our baby's leg's all stretched out. We could see all the bones and it's little feet. It was almost like the baby was sitting on the screen, granted we couldn't see anything that would tell us our baby's gender. We were trying to look but no such luck. Our technician said she tried not to look, because I'm sure it would be hard to not slip up and say something to the parents if you knew. I think Brandon was trying to trip her up a little bit, but no such luck. We also loved seeing our little baby's heart beating right away nice and strong, every time we had the chance we would look for the little heart beat.

Everything looked great with the ultrasound, granted we are not doctors or ultrasound technicians, but all looked well. I will be happy when we go to the Dr's again, so we can hear for sure that all is well with baby Bing. We go back to see our doctor on September 1st!

Brandon had said prior to this ultrasound that he didn't want to know the gender anymore, since we have to pay to find out in Nova Scotia he felt it was too expensive and was fine with the surprise. I was NOT fine with that, I need to know what gender this baby is, for my own preparation. After our ultrasound this week, Brandon admitted that he did really NEED to know now, so we booked our ultrasound for September 9th, we will almost be 25 weeks. It probably would have been better to wait a few more weeks, so that the baby can grow even more, but I didn't want to get to far into the school year because we want to be available to sub whenever we can, plus I just didn't want to wait too much longer, because not knowing is driving me crazy.

I have noticed since the ultrasound Brandon has been much more protective... he always was protective of me before and during my pregnancy, he's been a pro at keeping the house clean and understanding when I have no energy to do things or make meals. Since the ultrasound he's been even more protective, making sure I'm not lifting anything too heavy, that I'm eating better, and that I'm getting around places safely. He even called me at work this afternoon to see how I was feeling and to see how the baby was. It was my first shift after vacation, and it was a long shift so I thought that was super sweet. It made my heart happy. He also was going to a buddy's house tonight, and usually he'll forget to leave me a message or text me his plans but tonight he remembered which I really did appreciate.

A little bummed too, our first prenatal class was tonight, but I had to work. I won't miss the other ones, but do feel bad missing. The lady running them said it was okay that the first one was mostly just information, that seemed like things I already knew.

So that's a little baby update. I didn't want to forget too much, I want to record everything about this pregnancy, but I am just so excited about this baby joining our family. I have already started my 2011 blog book so I can start writing entries that I never had time to blog on here about. I'm already pumped to get it.

I work again tomorrow morning, so it's off to bed I go! Night all!!
