I'm Thankful, Hey badda boom, badda bing!

What a miserable, wet cold day... I'm not going to lie, I was grumpy this morning when I heard the rain, and even grumpier when I got to school and was soaked, even with the support of a BIG umbrella. Can I just say that, I HATE COLD RAIN! But enough with the grumbling! Today turned out to be so much better then I had expected, and I found appreciation in smaller things instead of being a big grump! Here let me share some of those moments...

1.
Negative: I hate the miserable, wet, cold day...
Positive: I love my nice warm winter jacket that keeps me cozy on those yucky days!
This is a picture I took on my iphone this afternoon while I was waiting for the bus to arrive, I'd just walked up a big hill in the freezing cold wind, and then had to wait 17 minutes for the bus. Well let me just say, it was okay because I was nice and toasty! I bought this jacket probably 3-4 years ago when I was still working at Roots. I'd been waiting for this style to come back in stock and was thrilled when it did. It's a down filled jacket, and it goes to just above my knees and it is AMAZING! It's warm, and water resistant, the hood is nice and big and deep, so I can bundle myself up in it. The faux fur trim is also awesome for keeping me cozy but it also is great for keeping rain and snow off of my face. It's the perfect winter jacket for me as I'm on duty with the kids and I just needed to give it a little shout out today! I'll be sad to one day have to replace my beloved jacket!

2.
Negative: I'm teaching french immersion today- and I don't know how to speak french, how rotten is this day going to be.
Positive: I'm teaching french immersion today, instead of teaching and english speaking class that is a bit more challenging behaviourally... woo woo!

I don't have a picture to put with this one, but I taught at a wonderful little school today, and although I was nervous to teach french immersion again, I was pleasantly surprised again to be treated with a very sweet, helpful and understanding class. They were a combination of both grades 2 and 3, and let's just say they were pretty pumped to get to speak english today. I have to say as well that I LOVE hearing children speak french so beautifully, they are all just so fluent and amazing, and I was indeed jealous of their french skills. I found out that morning that another class in the school needed a sub as well today and that they considered putting me in that room today since I'd been with that class previously twice before, but I'm glad I got to experience a new room today. This other class has some sweet students but also a few handfuls, so I was thankful to get a little break from that today!

I should add to, since I'm being thankful that I have five sub days this week and so far they've all be great days. Although I kinda needed a break this week, I am thankful for the full work week, and will just keep hoping for a break next week!

3.
Negative: I'm just so tired I want to go home and just sleep and ignore everyone.
Positive: Surprise phone call boosts my tired soul and gets me out to dinner with some fantastic ladies. What makes it even more fantastic is an understanding husband who let's me skip out on making dinner to go out with the gals!
I may have mentioned this before, but this is my friend Kerry and she is fantastic. We've been friends since grade two and I love her so much. But sad things are happening, she's moving away for almost an entire YEAR! AHHH!!!!! I know I'm so sad, but happy for her all at the same time. She met a fantastic guy in Australia and is moving over that way for a year, we are going to miss her desperately but are thrilled for her at the same time. It will be fun to send her mail! Anyway, we're all about getting lots of girl's nights in before she moves, so tonight the four of us headed out to Eastside Mario's for some dinner and chatting time and it was fantastic. I needed this girl time this week and am thankful it was with these ladies. Lesson learned though, when wanting to document images for the blog... bring my real camera not my phone camera it's just not the same. We had a great night and I am comfortably full!
Had to get both sides of the table and am so bummed again I didn't have my real camera, forgive me girls for posting these but they are memories! Laura and Nat made up the fab four tonight at dinner, and I'm so glad these ladies aren't going anywhere anytime soon, because our group is already getting small enough, Nicole is out west, Denise is in Ontario and Kerry will be in Australia, I need these ladies here. They are both such amazing friends who can always make me laugh. Laura if you look closely has her little baby bump hiding behind the table, and it is seriously the cutest thing ever! We had some very funny and random conversations tonight and I wouldn't have it any other way!
One more shot of Kerry and I, it's kinda blurry and I made it black and white, but I kinda like it, my face looks skinnier in this shot and isn't too shiny.

I am thankful today to have looked on the brighter side of life and I hope that we all can do that in our daily lives. I know that I'm going to try to continue looking on the positive side, because you know what it feels GREAT!

Happy Wednesday- here's a positive note, especially to all my teacher friends... The week's half over!

I realized that I read all your posts but I don't comment all the time! Bad me... I have to at least keep that up as I don't keep posting on my own blog! ;-(

I think that that is the same one that I have... I can't remember... I have forgotten all about my coat as it had to stored to keep it out of the way in the summer and now it is in the back of the closet... I should dig it out as I am not enjoying the cold this year at all!

Miss you!
