So Brandon and I went to see Music and Lyrics tonight and it was actually pretty funny. The theatre was packed and the women sitting next to us were super annoying- who yells across the row to their friend in the middle of the movie to point out some bad hair...soooo annoying! Anyway back to the movie here is what it's about...
Alex Fletcher (Hugh Grant), a washed-up ’80s pop star who's been reduced to working the nostalgia circuit at county fairs and amusement parks gets a chance at a comeback when reigning diva Cora Corman (Haley Bennett) invites him to write and record a duet with her. However, there’s a slight problem – Alex hasn't written a song in years, he's never written lyrics, and he has to come up with a hit in a matter of days.
Enter Sophie Fisher (Drew Barrymore), Alex's quirky plant lady, whose flair for words strikes a chord with the struggling songwriter. On the rebound from a bad relationship, Sophie is reluctant to collaborate with anyone, especially commitment-phobic Alex. As their chemistry heats up at the piano, Alex and Sophie will have to face their fears – and the music – if they want to find the love and success they both deserve.

I definitely cut and pasted that from a web-site...overall we enjoyed the movie, for something Brandon didn't want to see it definitely got some laughs from him. I thought it was really cute. I would recommend it as a rental- for a free movie at the theatre it was a fun date night- but on a paying night i probably would have chosen something else first!
I'll give Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore credit thought because they are both pretty good singers.
Overall it was a cute movie and a fun night out with Brandon we left Bayers Lake singing "Pop Goes My Heart"- Hugh Grants 80's hit!!hahah!!
