We are FINALLY MARRIED!!!

Well everyone...it's been awhile since I've been able to post, but the wedding planning has ended and Brandon and I are slowly getting settled into our new apartment. Married life is agreeing with us so much, it's awesome to see him everyday!

Tonight we ran some errands, bought bed side tables and got some groceries. When we got home he made us spaghetti and now he's building our bed side tables. Plus he even is doing the dishes...I am a VERY lucky woman!! I definitely have a wonderful husband!

So this blog is all about our big day...for anyone who knows me then know I've been waiting for awhile for this big day to come...and I've been planning A LOT!!! Friday was a hectic day, getting my nails done, running errands and decorating for the reception...that's when it really started to feel quite real. Seeing the room where my wedding reception would be was weird but also super exciting. I don't have the pictures on our computer yet, but that night I had a bunch of the girls over and we had a fun girls game night...it was the perfect way to spend my last night as a single gal, I loved being surrounded by so many awesome gals!!

SATURDAY AUGUST 4, 2007

Laura, Sonja and I headed out to LIFE salon and spa on Spring Garden Road that morning to get our hair done. I went in knowing I wanted it up, but that was all I knew. Well the woman who did my hair was the cutest little pregnant woman and she did an amazing job...I love love loved my hair. It was beyond perfect and it looked amazing with my veil. Our make-up was beautiful...just the right amount of make-up to make us look like perfection...she even covered the little break-out by my mouth....Loved them!! I go their to get my hair done and I highly recommend them....awesome salon.

I had some time to kill before the wedding, so I made sure I had everything I needed and then tried to keep my cool while I waited...I was so silly...emotional me was tearing up at friends and also at this song that I love called Weak In The Knees By Serena Ryder...if you have not heard it, find it because it's awesome. Mom and I drove over to the temple and we met Sonja there and waited for Brandon. He was running a bit behind due to a car mix up, but he arrived and didn't recognize me at first. He said I looked so beautiful!! It was a beautiful ceremony, we had Lloyd Hart marry us and he did a beautiful job. I of course was teary through the whole thing, but I was just so happy. It was such a good feeling to be marrying your best friend surrounded by so many people you love. It was soooooo AMAZING!!!

My mother, Brandon's mother and Sonja helped me get into my dress and it looked so stunning. Honestly girls can we all get together and have a party where to all wear our wedding dresses because I love mine and just want to wear it again. It was so thrilling to see Brandon for the first time in my dress and him in his tux...I'm probably partial but we looked GOOD!!!!! He looked like such a stud...and I remember thinking to myself...wow my husband looks good. We made everyone wait a little longer as we got our flowers together and found our shoes. It was so exciting to make our grand entrance to all our family and friends...I don't think I have ever smiled soooooo much!! The love inside and outside the temple was just exploding on the 4th... Brandon and I really appreciated the love and the support we felt on our special day!
We took so many pictures on the temple grounds. I cannot wait to see my photographers photos because I'm sure they are going to be perfect!! Our families looked wicked as you can see from our fam picture...to see all the other family pictures and all the wedding pictures check out my facebook. It was so awesome my survivor night girls were all there throughout the pictures. I am so lucky to have such amazing friends who love and support me so much...they were getting teary and making me tear up again. I love my girls.

We had a GREAT wedding party...not only did they all clean up so well, but they smiled in pictures so well!! Hahaha I love you guys!! I think the girls look stunning as well and the boys too handsome!! We really appreciated Brant stepping in and joining the wedding party late in the game...he is such a great friend and I know Brandon really appreciate it!! They hung out throughout the long photo session. Kathy's children looked beautiful, Laureen out did herself with the little girls dresses...they were perfect and I think they all felt like little princesses. I also love love loved my flowers. I got them at Laura J's and she did such a perfect job. The colors were perfect and they smelled amazing. Here are a few pictures...

In between the wedding and the reception we went by the Bing's so Brandon could actually pack for our honeymoon night at the Ramada. So I hung out with the fam and we ordered pizza. It was too funny, the girls draped a sheet over me to protect my dress.
Our reception was all I had imagined it to be. I really felt my decor worked out as I'd imagine it and the Kissing Cranium Game I created was a blast...it took a lot of planning but was so worth it. Brandon and I exchanged rings in the temple but we also did another one at the reception and we read poems to each other. Brandon made me tear up...it was a perfect moment. Not every table participated in my game...but those that did were awesome....Josh and Julia took the cake though by they HUGE kiss that we had to replicate...I don't know if we succeeded but with practice I think we can compete...hahha!! The food was delicious and the cake was ohhhhh sooooooo nice...I hated to have to cut. It was so beautiful, Brandon and I were oh so pleased with Scanway!! Sonja and Simon both toasted us, and fulfilled their roles so well...I cannot wait to hear them again on our wedding video. Our first dance was everything I had dreamed of...I'd heard the John Legend song I used when I first bought the CD like 2 years ago and I've loved it ever since...so it meant so much to me to dance with Brandon to it....It's called Stay With You, listen to it and you'll hear why I picked it. It actually played the other day at work and it was great to think back to that special moment. Brandon thanked everyone at the reception and spoke of me which was so beautiful...I have an amazing husband and I love him to pieces.
I am so happy to be married, it is living up to everything I thought it would be. We are slowly getting settled into the apartment...it'll be better in September when we can finally get some new appliances in our kitchen...harvest gold just isn't cutting it...hahhhaa!! It's such a great moment to wake up every morning next to Brandon!!!
I'm so thankful to everyone who was able to make it to share in our special day...thank you notes will be coming...I just have to make them. Kellie and Melissa thanks for the cards...expect notes in the mail eventually!!
I feel so very lucky to have married by best friend in the temple on the 4th. He is an amazing man and I feel so blessed to be able to call him my husband. We both have the BEST families and have gotten awesome in-laws. They've been taking care of us sooooo well, and helping us settle in. Well I suppose that I should go check in on my handyman. Hope you enjoyed my little update, there is so many more details I could have included but this would have been one long blog. I love Brandon Bing so much and I'm so excited to be called MRS. Bing!!!!!!!! Love you all loads and comment lots!!!!!

It's been a BUSY but FUN week...here is a RECAP!!

Well what a week it has been, I can honestly say that I am just sooooo drained. I took a BIG nap when I got home from church today, which was well needed! This may be a long blog so I hope that you can stick it out...here we go!!

MONDAY!

I worked on Monday and we made sure that we got out quickly since we were having a ROOTS outing that night! As many of the staff as we could find got together and headed out to one of our Favorite restaurants...OPA! It's a Greek restaurant and I LOVE IT!! Anytime anyone wants to go, call me I'm your dinner date!! We love having ROOTS parties and this one was extra fun because we were celebrating my upcoming wedding. I was very surprised with all they had done. When we arrived at OPA, I was greeted by big balloons that said Bachelorette Party, a Boa, a sash and a crown which I was made to wear. This was all kind of embarrassing because it's a really nice restaurant, but oh well you only get married once! So we had a delicious meal...many starters which we all shared... meatballs, flaming cheese, dip, calamari etc. Followed by our main meals which were sooooo delicious!! What was the best part I would have to say would be the desserts...I had a Vanilla Bean Cheesecake which was amazing! Everyone was so much fun and so sweet. One of my favorite customers, that is coming to the wedding, Crystal, couldn't make it to dinner but she gave me beautiful place mats from La Cache. Maria gave me a bag a sweets which all applied to Brandon and I which was super cute. My friend Sarah who is a talented artist gave me a beautiful card that she had painted herself, and my favorite guy Ryan gave me a handmade card that offered up his services as Godfather to out first child. Everyone there signed a really sweet card for me, which accompanied some gifts which I will not mention on my blog. We had a great night and they really made me feel extra special. I feel very lucky to get to work with such amazing people, who not only are my co-workers but my friends. Thanks a million guys you are one awesome team!!

TUESDAY!

Tuesday was my day off for the week, which is always a day i try to take advantage of for getting wedding things done! I was fairly productive today, which is always a plus. I had to go into Sears today to fix our wedding registry, which took some time but it's all better now! Mom and I headed out in the evening to look for fabric for my seating card table but really didn't have much luck...we did on the other hand have a lot of luck at the Paderno Sale at the Forum...mom just wanted to peak in, but I ended up buying more. I bought a lot of kitchen nick-nack tools and a toaster. We had not registered for one because Brandon wanted to pick out a good one, but when I saw this one I could not pass it up. It's a Red and Silver Cuisinart toaster that was regularly 80 dollars and was on for 24, it's perfect. So I took all my finds over to Brandon's that night to show it all off. I also took the kids over tonight for some fun...Jessica, Sarah and Jacob drove over to the Bing's to meet the newest member of the family- Lucy the beagle puppy! We sang Disney tunes the whole way there- which was a blast. The kids were not too sure about Lucy at first, she likes to nip at toes so she was chasing the kids around at first, Sarah was so cute, she jumped up on my lap to escape Lucy, and then spent the remainder of the night on the bar stool so Lucy couldn't get her. What is too funny is that Lucy is like the side of a foot, she is so tiny and cute!! Laureen showed me sonja's bridesmaids dress and it looks awesome- I'm so excited to see it all done!! She's also started the little girls dresses and I think they are going to be soooooo cute!! Brandon and I took the kids outside in the Hammock for awhile which was so funny seeing them squirming in it. We took a bunch of pictures, but here is a favorite of the kids! Brandon is so good with the kids, he's such an awesome uncle and I know that the kids just love him. We plan to have them over for sleepovers once we are in our new place! Although I think after our trip to DQ we won't be having any kids any time soon...we wanted to take them out for a treat so we went for an ice cream DQ run, well jake had his blueberry sundae everywhere...we went through so many napkins!! It was a fun night and I think the kids really enjoyed themselves. After dropping them off we headed home and relaxed the rest of the evening- watching some TV and playing with Lucy some more. She is too funny because she'll have so much energy and then all of a sudden just fall asleep- such a new puppy!!

WEDNESDAY!!

A Big Happy Birthday Shout Out for Josh on Wednesday he turned the big twenty four this year!! I headed over to the Blakeney Home for some birthday fun. Julia had a bunch of us over to celebrate and have some cake with Josh. I was really glad I was able to make it, and to get Josh his card on his actual birthday! Julia is such a good wife to organize all this for Josh, she had a super yummy ice cream cake and she brought it out while we all sang happy birthday. I really enjoyed hanging out with everyone and I can't wait until Brandon and I live close by so that he can come and hangout with everyone too. We had many good laughs that night. I also got to hold the adorable Morgan for the first time, i cannot believe how big she is getting! They grow sooooo fast, it seemed like just yesterday that she joined the MacLean Veinot Family! She was such a good baby tonight too!! Thanks so much for a fun time Julia you are the best!!!! Here are two more pictures from the night, one of out Hostess and our fellow blogger ashley!! and the other of our hostess with cutie pie Morgan!!

Check out the other pictures from that night, on facebook this week!!

THURSDAY!

Was Survivor Night and I didn't get any pictures but it was such a funny night. Natalie, Nicole and I hung out all night just talking about weddings, old school memories and playing mario party. It was too cute, Nicole's boyfriend Matt lives with Nicole and Kerry, so anyway he comes out of his computer room, and looks at me and tells me that I've started all this...hahha...he goes on how for the past three weeks all he's been hearing is "When I get married" and "for my wedding"...he was like I live here too, why can't we talk about things I like, which he went on to name a few...I'm not explaining the story well enough but it was too funny!! I love Matt, him and Nicole are such a cute couple, and I'm glad they'll be there to share in our special day...I hope though that being at the reception won't add fuel to the wedding fever that has been around the past few weeks...hahha!!!

SATURDAY!

I had my second wedding shower tonight which was a lot of fun. So many people came out to support me and i felt very loved again. Everyone participated and had fun...sonja did a great job at planning it and I appreciate it so much!! We played the toilet paper bride game which was too funny...it was very hard to find a winner...my nieces looked pretty darn cute, but Nicole's group was the winner her's looked really cute!! To see her winning picture check out facebook, I'm going to try to post the pictures this week. I was given many great notes of advice from all the guests that i will cherish forever, and put in my wedding scrapbook when I get around to making it. I big Hooray goes to my sister who knows me the best...she only got one question wrong...I was glad that she did so well, we've really become so much closer since she's ben married and I really appreciate all our conversations!! I feel very blessed to have so many great people in my life, they have all helped so much in the beginning of our soon to be married life. We got many beautiful gifts tonight and I feel so lucky!! I had a few unmentionables given to me tonight but I think I did much better...I had a slight sun burn so people couldn't tell if I was embarrassed as much- Thanks Brittany, Chelsey, Meaghan, Katrina and Sonja for that!!! When I'm in my Red themed Kitchen I will always think of Katrina!!!hahha!! My sister and the kids gave me another awesome gift, she really has done too much, she has started off stocking our fridge with all the beginning essentials- which is too crazy and sweet. They were all individually wrapped and my little helpers helped handing them to me. Jessica and Sarah we again great helpers and so well behaved!! My mom brought the tears to my eyes tonight by giving me a beautiful gift of Traditions...it meant so much to me and it is something that I will treasure forever. I think you could ask anyone that was there tonight what my best reaction was to a gift and they would have to say that it was my reaction to the label maker that my Survivor girls gave me...It is amazing and I cannot wait to use it, I just need batteries for it. It was so super thoughtful, one Thursday night we were watching a friends episode where monica says how 2 hours with her label maker was not a waste of time...and I said how much I wanted a label maker, and the girls remembered that and got me one. Which is soooooo amazing!! Now I just have to wait to use it!!! The food tonight was ohhhh sooooo good! I had to stop myself, or else I would not be fitting in my dress in 20 days!!hahha!! Everyone who brought something out did themselves, we were even sending people home with plates of food, so we wouldn't have so much left over! We took lots of pictures and the rest of them will be on facebook. A Big Thanks goes out to Sonja for a very fun night!! I feel very blessed to have her in my life! Now I just have to wait to use all my awesome new stuff, I cannot wait to move into the apartment and set everything up!! We didn't get home until late, and I then of course had to look at everything again , and call Brandon to tell him about my fun night. Thanks to everyone who helped make this day so special for me! I love you all and cannot wait to see you all at the wedding in 20 days!! I cannot wait to be married!!

So that is the rundown of my week, as you can see it was super busy but really fun!! I'm ready for this next week which will be filled with work and wedding plans...we are getting down to crunch time and I want to get everything done ahead of time!! Hope you enjoyed my update and I look forward to reading one from everyone this week!!!

Amazing Bridal Shower...

I am so tired and just want to crash, but I had to write a quick blog to thank my sisters and my mother and my aunt for putting together a beautiful bridal shower. It was perfect and so much fun. It was a great environment filled with some very special people to me. I feel very blessed to have them all in my life especially to share in this exciting time for Brandon and I.

They all truly made me feel so special today and I appreciate it more then they can probably imagine!!!
Let me tell you a little bit about our night. The shower was held at my aunt Penny's home, which is a second home to me since I house sit there. I love her home so much, it's very warm and inviting just like her! The guests were a mix of family, co-workers, and church friends. We had an evening filled with laughter and fun times. We played two games...one was a word scramble...Jessica, Sarah and I got 14/25...we tried our hardest. The other game was how well do you know the bride...I think quite a few people learned something new about me tonight! It was really cute!

The spread of food was just crazy...there was so much from fruit trays to fondue...everyone pitched in and we had more then we could eat. it was so relaxing just to eat and visit and hangout, which I loved!! Laura and Lesley were hiding out on the back deck with the cheese ball...I think they would have taken more if they could have.

Brandon and I have the start to beautiful new apartment because of all the generous gifts we received tonight...I want to thank everyone who was there that might see this...a BIG THANKS TO YOU!!!
Here is a quick run down...
Canister set, dish clothes, Rubbermaid containers...beautiful pottery...mini muffin tins, candy thermometer, shaker, bunt pan, casserole dish...mixing bowls...awesome IKEA measuring gadgets, ice cream scoop and bowls..towels, sheets...cool hamper...drainer...pot, strainer...cookbook...glasses and a CROCK POT(Thanks to the Bing Girls!!!).

My special little helpers tonight were my nieces Jessica and Sarah...they were on their best behaviour and such a big help to me. Handing presents, cleaning up paper and even reading me my cards. They gave me a very special gift of IKEA kids cutlery, bowls, plates and cups, along with a juice container and Koolaid. What was even more special was that they decorated by hand all my wrapping paper, I'm saving most of it that's how much it meant to me. Now I guess they'll have to come over for a sleepover!!! I didn't realize until now but we color co-ordinated with our whites and greens!!

My sisters, not only threw me an amazing shower but they also gave me some really sweet gifts, of IKEA stuff, Pampered Chef and some unmentionables that indeed turned me bright red...I don't know if the picture does justice to how red I got... but I got some embarrassed that I started laughing so much that tears were even coming...I'm not one for opening gifts in front of people...so opening embarrassing gifts was even that much harder.By the time I got to the second un-mentionable gift it wasn't so bad, although still embarrassed...especially by the note Lesley wrote me, but we'll keep that private. I just feel like the luckiest person to be cared for so much by this many people. I couldn't ask for better people around me.

It was kinda weird to be going to a bridal shower tonight for me but I couldn't have asked for a better night. To everyone that came and to my family that planned it....THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! I appreciated it so much, you went above and beyond what I would have expected and I want to thank you for making me feel so loved and important!!

Here are a few pictures from the night...check out the rest on facebook...

Me and my special helpers hiding behind the beautifully wrapped gifts!!

This is me Red and crying from laughing due to embarrassment...thanks to my sisters!!

Days Off and Soccer Night

I finally had a day off!! My manager was away this past week so I was running the show, which I have to say went really well- we had an amazing week in sales and the store looks great! It was a very long week though, seeing as my day off last week was Monday and I had to work this past sunday...it was a week on working everyday... I thought I was going to cry...well it wasn't that bad, but a girl can exaggerate!

So Tuesday was my day off, and I had many things I wanted to accomplish and I feel pretty good about what I checked off the list! I wanted to go and pick up some things from the craft store for the wedding, so I headed over and gave kathy a hand with the kids and she gave me a hand with the craft shopping. We had the three girls with us while mom took jake to see his speak doctor lucy. The girls were great in the store and as I treat I got them (well not georgia) stickers and happy meals. They are tricky little girls, I planned to take them for ice cream and they both said they wanted burgers, what's an auntie to do!! I picked up quite a bit at the craft store and now it's all about just getting everything made. With Kathy's help I think we'll succeed in that goal! I have to put a big thank you out to my survivor night girls...they gave me a $40 dollar gift certificate as part of my birthday gift and it came in handy when buying my wedding stuff!!!

That night mom and I went to soccer with kathy and the kids. Brandon met us there so they had a big cheering club that night. It was so much fun to be on a soccer field again. I haven't gotten to play the past few years and have really missed it, so if anyone ever wants to play a friendly game of soccer make sure I get a call!! Anyway Brandon and I had a great time watching the girls play- they were too cute they kept looking over and smiling at us! Brandon had fun holding georgia again and playing soccer with jake on the side lines. He's really getting into the uncle role, he brought them each a sweet treat tonight which they were all excited to eat. The soccer game was cute, too bad Jessica and Sarah were on the same shift as the biggest ball hogger on the team...although they don't keep score our team definitely won! Go Gold Diggers...that's right it's their team name! After the game we walked the kids over to the car and the girls both gave me pictures that they had made for me which was really sweet. They had used the stickers I had given them to make me a picture- man I love those kids!

That night Brandon and I just went home and relaxed and watched TV. It'll be so nice to go home to our own place and not have to worry about driving home at 1am...it's now just under a month until the wedding and I could be more excited. i still have A LOT to do, but I know it'll all come together!! I should go get somethings done today and head down to the mall to pay off the rest of Brandon's ring!! Here are a few more pictures from the game hope you enjoy- see facebook for the rest of them!

Special Day for our Family!!!!

Today as you can see from the title was a very special day for our family. Kathy and Jeff's newest daughter Georgia Marie was blessed today at church. She looked so beautiful as you can see in her white dress. This dress was worn by both Jessica and Sarah, so it has very special memories. Jeff gave her a beautiful blessing, and she was pretty good throughout the whole thing, letting out a few noises towards the end. She is such a beautiful little girl and it was so special to see her blessed. It was extra nice as well because I got to sit with Brandon today at church, for those who don't know, I'm still in Halifax Ward at church while Brandon is in Cole Harbour because it starts earlier, so he can make it to some of the meeting before going to work. Church is always wonderful but for some reason it's just so much better when I get to sit with Brandon. Plus it was awesome to have almost my whole family surrounding me (minus Laura- you suck!! PEI come on!!) I unfortunately had to work today, but more on that later, so I didn't get to go to the family BBQ which would have been so yummy, so I made sure to snap a few pic's before I left and then left the rest in the hands of my mother.

Phil and Sonja were back today at church and it was so nice to see them. I really miss sonja when she's away because she's one of the people I talk to almost everyday, so it was nice to look across the aisle at church and see them sitting there. Ethan is getting so big, he has so many teeth now and a bit more hair although it's pretty blond. Today in Sacrament meeting he was playing peek-a-boo which was one of the cutest things ever!!! Brandon and I had Ethan sit with us for a little bit and he was a little charmer as always. He definitely loves his cousins.

Sadly though I had to leave church early today at 11am because I had to work, and trust me I was not impressed at all. My store was not only open today but it is also open tomorrow...no Canada day for me this year I guess...Oh but I forgot retail people don't count as people, we don't get to have a life and celebrate holidays, we just have to work, so people can not spend time with their families on Holidays, they can shop. So needless to say I wasn't wanting people to ask me how I was today because I was going to tell the truth. We had an okay day I guess....time passed fairly slow at first but luckily picked up. Christina and I watched the Canada Day/ Tattoo parade from the store window...it was pretty good I guess. The only good thing that comes out of working Sunday and Monday is that I'm gaining two paid days off for after the wedding which is awesome...I try to focus on that!!!

After work I ran some food down to Brandon who was working a super long shift today, so I grabbed him some food and took it down which he really appreciated!! I secretly just wanted to see him, and bringing him food was the perfect reason to get to see him!!! I cannot wait until we have jobs where we have the weekends off, it'll be soooooooo nice!!

The wedding plans are coming along well, I'm in the process of figuring out decor for the reception and rounding up the remaining RSVP's...there are still a few slackers who have yet to RSVP and they better do it soon. Brandon and I have our marriage license which is exciting, one step closer!!

I should mention since I have not posted since Monday...Wednesday evening Brandon picked me up from work and we headed down to the Five Fisherman Restaurant for dinner with his family as well as his grandparents that were in town for Brittany's Graduation (Congrats Brittany and Laura on Graduating!!) Anyway the restaurant was beautiful, they had someone walk us up to our seat and they were very quick to refill drinks etc. Also the sun was shining in my eyes and they came over and closed them for me...most places are not this caring- it was quite nice. We had a delicious dinner- I had chicken...yummy!!!! There was a salad bar and muscle bar, which Brandon loved- he had 4 plates of them..I on the other hand tried 2. Dessert was just as wonderful...cheesecake...YUMMM!!!! It was a great meal and even greater company...I had the nicest time talking with the family and with Brandon's grandparents. They are just the sweetest people. His grandmother Sandie came over and gave me a hug as soon as we arrived. Meaghan and I spoke wedding plans which was super exciting. It's so awesome- I get my wedding in August and then Meaghan's in October! I LOVE WEDDINGS!!!!! When we went to leave we stopped outside to talk a minute longer and Brandon's grandfather Steve gave me a hug good-bye, it was just such a great dinner, I am definitely marrying into a wonderful family!

I definitely feel very blessed to not only have an amazing family myself, but to be gaining another amazing family!! I am being doubly blessed!! I can't even express how excited to gain more members to my family!!!

Anyway even though my Canada Day weekend is a total bust, I still want to wish everyone a HAPPY CANADA DAY!!! Here are four little cuties modeling their Canadian pride...Check out Facebook for all of Georgia's blessing photos!!!

Prom Craziness...

Well it is official....Laura and Brittany are pretty much done high school...prom is over and now all they have to do is take the big walk across the stage. It seems like yesterday they were both just starting high school and now they are done...WEIRD!! They are both going to DAL next year which is super exciting for them both. As you can see from the picture they were both stunning in their prom attire...I think the two best looking girls there but I might be a bit partial.

Laura and I had a busy day leading up to prom...she didn't have everything quite figured out...so we ran some errands for new flip flops...make-up since she volunteered me to do it...and a bronzer...what worked out well though was when we went to the drug store and asked the girl about it she said for Laura to just come back and that she'd do concealer and bronzer for free...so all I had to worry about was her eyes. Thank Heavens for that because I've never really had to do make-up on anyone other then myself. After the fact I realized i should have called my friend Kerry to do it because she has all this awesome MAC make-up and she always does amazing stuff with it...oh well...I'll remember next time!!

Laura went to prom with her friend Collin...so we took some pictures in the backyard before they headed over to a friends place for more pictures... They looked so cute...collins shirt and tie were complementary colors to Laura's dress so they looked quite smashing together. We borrowed our neighbor Rita's yard to take some pictures in front of her purple bushes, which continued the complementary color scheme. Collins grandmother is a neighbor of ours so we called her down for a picture too which was a lot of fun. Brandon was over so we made sure to get a picture with Laura before the craziness of the Gardens...although we took one there too. You may not have noticed but we also have complimentary colors on...he wanted to go buy a new shirt because we ended up in similar colors...he'll shoot me for pointing it out but I thought we looked good. It was a total fluke...but I don't think it's that bad- we are not identical!! Not too many people noticed so we survived the night...what do you guys think...do we look like goofballs?? Anyway so as Laura and Collin headed out Bran and I headed down to the gardens to meet up with his family. We were the first ones down so we waiting around looking at all the pretty dresses and some of the not so pretty ones. There were quite a few white tuxes and one guy who had a broken arm had a sling made to match his dates blue dress which was bright but kinda cute. We met up with Meaghan next- which was funny because just as we were calling each other I looked up and she was a few feet away. It really worked out perfectly that Brittany and Laura had prom on the same night because I was able to see them both and get pictures of them both. It was a challenge because I could be in two places at once but I kept running back and forth so it worked. I was Laura's tag along photographer...basically she told me what pictures to take, but it was fine because then I got to see how all her friends looked!! I love prom...I love the hair and the dresses...it was great I was totally in my element. Although it had both Chelsey and I wanting to go to prom again...but hey I think a wedding will be a much better dress up occasion then a prom so I'm happy!!! Here are a few more pictures from the Gardens...to see the rest go to my Facebook...most of them are posted there...

This is Laura and I with her friend Kristo...
a few weeks ago he had my neighbor thinking that he was the guy
I was going to marry...he's too stinkin' funny!!

This is my favorite friend of Laura, his name is Ryan.

He is actually my buddy now because we worked together at Roots. He was the first QEH person I spotted that night so I needed a picture of him and his cute girlfriend Liz...they were lookin good!!!

This is a picture of Brittany and a few of her close girlfriends they all looked amazing-

although I have to say I think Brittany has the prettiest dress...

she looked like a princess...too cute!

This is a group shot of Laura and a bunch of her friends...there are too many to name because they kept multiplying in the picture...it was craziness!!!

This is a fun picture it's called the "Westmount Crew"...this is Laura and a bunch friends that she has been going to school with since grade PRIMARY. It took awhile to track everyone down but they finally did and I think they look awesome!!

So after the prom girls took off to their various prom destination...we headed out for dinner. Meaghan, Chelsey, Laureen, Peter, Brandon and I went to Mexi's for dinner. Other then being freezing inside my meal was awesome. I had the lemon marinated chipolte chicken and it was AMAZING....brandon tasted it and wished he's have gotten it. It was really fun just hanging out and chatting with the fam!! My friend Paola works there and I ran into her while I was there which was a lot of fun since I haven't seen her since she got back from Africa and she hasn't seen me since before I was engaged...so it was a blast to run into her. She looked so good!!

Brandon and I grabbed some DQ treats for our walk back to the car as dessert and who did we run into but Nicole, Matt, Kerry and Matt...it was so fun to randomly see them. Brandon definitely needs to come along to a games night soon so he can get to know my girls more!!

Anyway that's about it for now, hope you enjoyed the prom update...It was an beautiful day and Laura and Brittany were even more beautiful!!!!

Someone is loving being an uncle...

So I always try to have pictures from my week to post here on my blog. This weeks pictures come from this past Tuesday when Brandon and I got to spend sometime with our nieces and nephew. As you can see from the picture someone is settling into his new role rather well. This was the second time that Brandon got to hold Georgia, so I think he was pretty excited! He had tin man arms at first but once he got used to holding her he looked like a seasoned pro. The kids are getting used to calling him uncle Brandon, although it is official for a few more weeks! I'm loving it and I think he is too!

Tuesday Brandon and I went out and got out marriage license all sorted out. We are able to go and pick it up anytime this week after Tuesday so I'm quite excited about that. It'll be great to check something else off my list. We also took my ring in to get it sized, which I really didn't want to do because my hand felt naked, but hey the feeling for a few days is better then having the permanent feeling which I would if I lost me ring because it was a bit loose. Luckily the kind woman put a rush on it and I had it back in under a week. While I was out getting my ring back I stopped into MAC and picked up some new eye shadow...they are quite pretty...maybe the names will help you imagine them... Star Violet, White Frost and Amber Lights... Seriously if you ever want to go and treat yourself, go there and get help with new make-up...if they're not busy they'll even show you how to put on your new colors. It's great and you leave feeling so pretty.

Nothing else super exciting happened this week...I worked as usual... it was a slower week due to the rain but we managed to keep ourselves entertained. Survivor Night was a blast as always... Kerry, Nicole, Natalie, Jane and myself played a round of cranium turbo...if you thought cranium was fun- you would LOVE cranium turbo...it is so much harder and so much more fun! Nic and I went through our IPOD'S and traded good music- I have a new favorite Song... I think it'll be added to the wedding play list- it's called Bubbly and it's an adorable song!! My friend Sarah at work is the best she always makes me CD's with so many awesome song's and this last one was no exception- Thanks Sarah!

This week will be another busy one...my day off is tomorrow, and I'm hoping for a beautiful day since it is Laura and Brittany's prom night. It works out perfectly because both Cole Harbour High and QEH will be at the Gardens around the same time, so Brandon and I are going to see our little sisters all dolled up. I will post a bunch of pictures. I LOVE prom's I was telling Ashley and Whitney all about my love of proms today at church. I just love seeing the hair and the style of dress for the year. I'm sure Laura and Brit are both going to look AMAZING! So look forward to their pictures...as long as it doesn't rain!
I hope you enjoy my little update post and pictures...sonja, if you are reading this while you are away I miss ya already! Hope you, phil and ethan are having an awesome time. Say Hi to your dad for me!!!
