Times have been busy but GOOD!

Well friend, I have to admit, I have had so many moments over the past few weeks where I've had a blog idea come to me, but I just haven't had the energy to post about it. I've started teaching full days and although it is tiring, I'm loving every minute. Grade three is wonderful and challenging. The kids say the funniest things. This week in health we were talking about grain products, and my teacher mentioned to the kids during my lesson that fiber helps you do number two. So that got the kids giggling, and this one little guy who I love is looking around at everyone, and then says "what's number 2", so the kids explain to him what it is, he pauses for a moment and then says, "Why is everyone laughing it's just natural." It was so funny and true! I'm excited that it is March break, I'm looking forward to catching up on some sleep and some other tasks non school related that I need to do. Here is some more of what I've been up to.

The TWINS were born this week! Although it is scary because they are so tiny, we are so thankful that they are here, safe and getting the best care possible. It will be a long time before we get to cuddle and kiss these girls, but they will be feeling our love in all sorts of other ways. Finley Anne was born first and is 31 cm long and weighs 1 lb. 5.5 oz. and her little sister Emmy Jacquelyn is 28 cm long and weighs 1 lb. 4 oz.

Kathy and I were able to go down to see them last night in the NICU. Mike prepared us that they would be tiny, and maybe not what we were expecting to see. They are PERFECT! They are very tiny, but just perfect, they have little wrinkles on the bend in their fingers, they have long fingers and legs, and tiny little finger nails. Their noses are so adorable, and beautiful round little heads. Although they are in incubators and have lots of tubes and wires you can't be amazed at their beauty. Mike and Keah are doing great, but tired. I'm hoping they both got a little bit of sleep last night. Mike was such a proud dad taking us down to see the girls. When Kathy got to see them first he was even given the chance to touch little Emmy, Kathy captured the moment for him which is so special. I could have stayed and looked at them all night, I can't wait for the day when we can cuddle them and when they can play with their cousins.

We are keeping these little girls in our prayers and ask everyone else to as well. Think lots of positive thoughts and send them this way! We have been taking lots of pictures, but are keeping them within the family right now. More updates will come from all of us!

I've also been busy making cards galore. I owed some people some cards, so I finally was able to make them, and I couldn't have been happier with how they turned out.
These sets were for Helene and Lesley... I also made some slightly different ones for Kathy. I was glad to get them done. It was such a fun giveaway that Tanya did on her blog, I had to honour it!
I also helped out my little sister and made a card for her father-in-law to be. This is based off a picture of him diving- I guess they found a toilet and he sat on it for a picture. I loved how it turned out. Hopefully he did too!

We celebrated my brother-in-law Ryan's first married birthday with a country themed surprise party. It was a really nice time and very themed. I think he was pretty surprised too. I love getting together with family, celebrating and taking pictures!
My brother and sister-in-law: Jason and Meaghan
My sister-in-law and her boyfriend: Ian and Brittany
Me and My baby sister... my face looks fat, what a horrible position for a picture
My brother-in-law and soon to be sister-in-law: Jaccob and Sarah
The birthday boy with my wonderful sister-in-law: Ryan and Chelsey
Some of the festive food: Mac & Cheese with hot dogs, deviled eggs and veggies & dip
The festive card I made for Ryan

We also had a literacy night at school recently. Our class did pictures of animals in their habitats and a write up about them. We are doing an entrepreneurship project, and these little sketches will eventually be turned into large canvas paintings. We plan to make a little book about the art work and have an art show. It should be pretty cool.
This was one of the kids sharks it's pretty awesome!
This is our display in the gym- turned out really fun!

I've also recently been given a new calling at church. I'm second counsellor in the Relief Society. I don't know if I'm quite ready for the calling, but I think I am up for the challenge. If you have any good ideas for enrichment activities, send them my way please! We are preparing for the RS birthday party, and we have a cool program planned. I had to make 60 invites this past weekend and I was so pleased with how they turned out, and they didn't take nearly as long as I thought they would!
We are getting ready for a busy few weeks after march break. We finish student teaching, and then we have a family wedding, which we could be more excited about. Then we have a seminar week at school and eventually we graduate in May. This week Cooper turns one, and I'm excited for his birthday party! He's going to be awesome digging into his cake- look forward to a post about the party! Hope your all enjoying our 8th day of sun in a row, let's hope spring is on it's way!
