February Catch UP

Today has been a super productive day. I've gotten groceries, done the laundry, cleaned the floors, cooked dinner and banana bread, done the dishes and prepared my Sunday school lesson. I'm still working through my list and my blog was something I've been meaning to update, so here we go. This post is filled with a lot of different things, I need to really try to update more frequently.

Brandon and I have both been teaching for seven weeks now, and are tired, but enjoying what we are doing. I have been taking so many pictures at school, but I am not able to post them, but we've been having fun. In grade three we are doing an entrepreneurship project, where we have business meetings and the kids dress up it's too cute. One little guy spiked his hair, wore a white t-shirt with a red clip on tie attached to it and a black collared button up shirt left open over it. He looked too cute. The class has decided that we are going to have an art show or work created by them. We've also had winter carnival where we had crazy hair day, hat day, backwards day and red day. There was sledding, a sock hop, and a talent show. It's been a blast!

The most exciting part of this week was that we had out first SNOW DAY! I was up at 5:15 am waiting for the news. It was snowing a lot and I knew that schools would be closed but I needed to wait up to hear the word for sure and at 5:45 am I had the news, celebrated and then went back to bed. It was great. I used the day to make loads of cards and relax! It was perfect!
I was so excited that school was cancelled that I took a picture of the announcement- I know I'm a geek!

This is a bulletin board of work I had done with my students, the kites was a math lesson and the polygon art was of course art... I think the display turned out great.
***
We also got a new frame for our new mattresses which boosted it up higher. Brandon felt that we needed something to go over it, so we found this painting and I LOVE IT! Our room feels much more complete.

We also did silk screening with the students this month and it was one of the most fun art activities that I have ever done. It was a little messy but the shirts turned out fantastic. This was the one I made for Valentines day, and I plan to get a kit so I can make some more with the nieces and nephew some time when they come over.

This was me at school on hat day, since I couldn't sport crazy hair on crazy hair day because my supervisor was coming, I felt the need to participate in crazy hat day and the kids loved the hat!

We also recently celebrated Mom's birthday with a family dinner with everyone, except Jeremy there. It was great to hangout with the family and celebrate one amazing mother.

This is one of my latest belly shots of Keah, isn't she looking amazing. We were thrilled the next day to find out that two little girls will be joining our family this summer. I cannot wait to meet them, they can't come soon enough, but we'll wait as long as we have to for them to come.
Brandon and I at dinner... we both look tired after I had chaperoned the after school sock hop, and Brandon had chaperoned an all day ski trip and LOVED it!
Mom and her buddy Georgia with the birthday cake. Mom had just gotten a make-over and was looking fab!

Valentines Day... has come and gone and it was actually a really nice weekend. I had to miss my class Valentines party because we had to go back to the Mount for the afternoon and I was bummed about that. But I did get to deliver my cards to the kids and they left me some cards in my Valentine bag. It was super cute!
This is the Valentine I gave to my students this year, I ordered it off of ETSY and it was designed to look kinda like me... I'm going to use it for my students every year.
This was the Valentine Bag I got to make at school this year!

On the day before Valentines we went to Bridgewater to have a Stampin' Up party at Irene's house. Monica, Lesley, Kathy and I drove up bright and early, met Irene and Keah there and had a BLAST making cards and chatting all day. We had a delicious lunch that we all contributed to and then we all got to order some goodies. We only wish more of our stampin' friends could have been there. The highlight of my day was meeting the cows, I don't know if I had ever been that close to a real cow in my life and it was quite an experience! It was a perfect day!
Me and my cow friend... don't we look like great buddies!
The stampin' up girls... me in the back, Kathy, Monica, Irene, Lesley and Keah and the twins in the front. Check out my buddy the cow in the back, she just wanted to be part of the gang.
It was a PERFECT and BEAUTIFUL day in Bridgewater.

That night I prepared for Valentines day...
This is the card I made for Brandon this year... he gets to eat the treats eventually.
I made pink pancakes in the morning for Brandon... I cut some into hearts because I'm a cheese ball like that!
This is the Dior perfume that Brandon surprised me with on Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day was a great day, we only got to spend a little bit of the day together, but that little bit of time was perfect. I love Brandon so much and am so thankful that he is mine forever!

Hope you all made it to the end, and although I've said it before I hope to update more frequently to avoid these marathon posts. Happy February to you all!

I could browse Etsy allll day. LOVE IT. I just ordered Miss Roo some skinny headbands off of it, and I've also bought some cute vinyl flowers for our kitchen wall. It's easily the most dangerous place ever!!

You seem like such a wonderful teacher, you'll have to give Nate some pointers when he finally gets to the classroom!
