It's been a crafty month...

So Valentines Day has come and gone and as I'd mentioned Brandon and I had spread out the celebration since we knew we wouldn't really get to see each other since I worked in the day and he worked in the night...which totally sucked...but what can ya do. We don't need a special day to tell each other how much we love each other...but maybe next year we'll get to spend it together because I do enjoy the day don't get me wrong. So on Valentines day I was at work and we had a fun day...I sported my pink polo layered with my heart printed shirt...I was feeling the love. I brought in Valentines for everyone and Jeff bought us lip shaped cookie. This is a picture of Maria and I with our new lips. The picture doesn't do it justice because they were sooooo sparkly and pretty it was awesome, I hated to eat it but it was delicious! Luckily Valentines was on a Thursday so I got to spend the evening with my girls watching survivor...Kerry and Natalie made us dinner and I brought some Valentines treats so it was a great night!

I've got to be a bit craftier this month too, which I'd been missing since the holidays were so busy at work. I haven't had the chance to scrapbook yet, but I've been making cards and loving it. I found a style of cards that I really liked so I re-created it for Brandon for Valentines Day and I think it turned out pretty dang good...I was way proud of it, and actually like it more then the one I saw in the store. Brandon didn't want me to buy him anything for Valentines day so the card included some coupons which I thought was perfect...things like a back rub, and a date night. I think he really liked it, and appreciate it, which is what I was going for...check out the pictures!! Oh and I think I am slightly crazy because it is stitched around each coupon, and i did it by hand, it took forever but was so worth it because it looked awesome in the end.

My sister Kathy has introduced me to this new magazine and I love it. It's called Scrapbooks etc. and it has some really awesome ideas for scrapbooks and cards, so I printed off the pattern for one of the cards and attempted to make it and it turned out super cute...well I think so. I think it will turn into one of those cards that you make to give people all the time, because it's easy and adorable. I made these first three for the sisters at church that Jessica and I visit teach. I wanted to be able to leave them with a little thought and a little Valentines wish. The card in the magazine used some patterned papers, which was really cool but I didn't have any that I thought would be suitable, so eventually I'll get some and make the card again using that idea but for now I love using the bring colors. I actually bought this paper for the cricut machines that they sell which I wish I owned but i don't...but the paper is really awesome and kinda textured. So it was really perfect for the card! I don't know what it is about card making and cards in general but I do love love love them. I love giving them i love receiving them i love the look on peoples faces when they open a card and appreciate the message in it. I just can't explain the extent that I love cards. I keep them too and it's such a great thing to look back on when you are feeling blue or just want to remember the fun day you were given the card. It's dangerous though when I get into a card store because I just can't contain myself...I have a three drawer plastic storage container which I store cards in...it used to be this little fan folded box but I out grew it, and now they're in the three drawers. It comes way in handy when I just need a card. My favorite card store is called Duly Noted and it's on Quinpool Road. The cards are a little pricey but they are so worth it because they are absolutely beautiful. I also got my wedding invitations from there too! I don't get there often which is probably good because I'd be BROKE...but it's a special treat when I do!!! I hope that you've all enjoyed this little rant about cards, but I just thought I would share my passion on them. Oh and I should mention as well that my husband gave me the cutest Valentines card this year, it has the cutest little money couple on it and it fan folds out a few times...I will treasure it always since it was our first married Valentines Day together. It was sitting out for me when I got home from girls night on Valentines Day and it brought tears to my eyes.

I also wanted to share a picture of my table from my first dinner party. We haven't had anyone over yet for dinner, since one I'm not the confident in my cooking yet, and it's hard to find time when Brandon and I are both home. So I had the girls over for Survivor night and we had dinner first, I made my sisters curry chicken, with rice, rolls and carrots and I think it turned out pretty well. I don't think anyone was sick the next day! It was super fun to hangout with the girls and have a delicious dinner. Plus I got to set my table super fun and use my turquoise and brown plates which I have yet to be able to use and I loved it so much that I had to take a picture...I am a GOOF! I guess next time I'll get a picture of us with the table but my batteries died..boo! But it was a fun night so the memory will last regardless of if I caught it on camera or not.

The last thing to mention is some exciting news in the Bing Home...as everyone knows we've been applying to school next year...and we've just been waiting now to hear if we were getting interviews or not. Well so far we both have interviews at the mount this week and next week we are driving up to St.FX for my interview there. Hopefully Brandon will hear from X soon, but he wants to do high school so the interviews would be at a different time. I'm way nervous about the interviews so keep us in your prayers, but I think we'll be okay. I'm hoping all my time in retail will pay off in this situation! I do have to brush up on my math skills this week since i do have a math test on Saturday at the mount...it's been awhile since I've done math...so i need the work.

Hope everyone is having a great week....I've been loving the updates from everyone...Kristi has some great pictures on hers...Kristine has a baby update, nothing yet but hopefully this week...kathy's family's been gaining and loosing teeth and my friend Meghan from high school has just started a blog and I'm super excited about that! So check out all the blogs because everyone has been updating and there super fun to read! Thanks everyone for the updates I love them and will try to comment more!!
