Well it is official, Brandon and I are university graduates which is SUPER Exciting. Our Graduation was this past Friday and for this blog, it is the first thing that has come to an end!! Brandon and I are both super excited to have finally graduated and taken that long walk across the stage. We have both worked super hard and it has shown throughout the year. I'll tell you all a bit about the day! Brandon picked me up at 8am, I must say I bought a new dress from GAP and was looking quite adorable...it has pockets which is my most favorite aspect of the dress but anyway. I was a bit stressed out about getting there on time, we were only a few minutes late. We parked in the Metro Park and had to walk up quite a few big hills so I ended up taking off my heels and walking in my tights the whole way there, heels look great for short distance walking but not for hills. I must have looked like a crazy walking through down town Halifax in my dress and bare feet. It would have taken us a lot longer if I had kept my shoes on. Anyway we get to the Metro center and got help with out gowns, hoods, pins and flowers before they lined us up in order...Brandon was number 25 and I was number 389. I was wishing we were married that day. It was okay though because I was next to a guy named Justin O'Hearn whom I had a class with so we had the opportunity to chat...no relation though! The entrance into the rink was quite excited to see the stage set up and all the people. Mom Dad and Laura were on my side front row and Brandon's fam was on his side a few rows up. I found them all but Brandon couldn't find any of them. The ceremony was 3 hours long but it wasn't that bad. There were some good speeches and honorary degrees given out... What took the longest amount of time was the giving out of the degrees...I was so proud as I watched Brandon walk across the stage and accept his degree...he looked so great and he didn't trip! I was quite nervous as my turn approached because I was worried about walking in my heels. So my turn come up and they pronounce my name correctly (I fixed the spelling on my card so that they wouldn't make my name rhyme like many people do) I started my walk and made it to the center...accepted my degree without dropping it and then made it to the next person and down the stairs without tripping...it was a relief!!! Mom was right there snapping pictures as I walked down the stairs it was really great! What was especially neat was that at the end they shot off these maroon, white and silver streamers into the rink it was quite cool!! Brandon and I had quite the time finding our families afterwards but we did and got to take some great pictures...our parents got our degrees framed for us which was a great gift- we cannot wait to hang them in our living room!
Here are a few pictures from Graduation...
I really do recommend to anyone in University to go to their graduation ceremony. We both didn't want to go but I'm glad we did. It was a great feeling for us and our families to get to celebrate our accomplishments. It was also really cool to sit there and look around and walk across the stage- I felt like I was in a movie especially when the streamers launched!! It was great to for our families to be together, my parents got to meet Brandon's grandparents which was great. They came all the way from Ontario to be there it I know Brandon as well as my self really appreciated them. We had a few opportunities to sit and chat it was the best, they are just the sweetest people and I'm so excited that we will all be family soon enough!!
Enough with Graduation, this was also a week of endings for many of my favorite television shows...as many of you know I love reality TV I try not to watch it because I know I will get hooked but I just can't help it so I must make some comments...don't worry there are pictures!!
The BACHELOR Officer and a Gentleman..ended Monday Night! I have to say that Officer Andy Baldwin is the hottest Bachelor that the show has ever had. Not only was he a major stud but he also was such a sweet guy. Okay yes he kissed a lot of girls but in the final episode you could really see the pain he was going through with his decision and then letting one of the girls go. It was hard to watch. It was down to Tessa and Bevin and I actually liked them both...but I guess I liked Tessa a bit more because when she won I actually teared up with happiness...I know I'm a goofball...I can't help it that I'm a crier! I just love love stories and have been watching this one unfold. As Brandon would say they're just actors but I choose not to believe that and just think of it as a love story and it was GREAT!! So i was totally happy with that ending...i was bummed though because I missed the show that gives the update on them now, it was on at the same time as American Idol and I couldn't miss that!
Dancing with the Stars...ended on Tuesday night after an awesome episode on Monday night. Apollo and Joey rocked their freestyles with cool lifts, while Layla's was just so so! I was super excited to see who would win, if you remember my post from when the season started you'll see that these three pairs were part of my top four, so I was happy that they'd all made it!! The final episode was awesome, great dance numbers and all the voted off couples were back. They showed flash backs to the past three seasons and had all the past winners in the audience...Kelly, Drew and Emmit. Just like the Bachelor, I didn't realize who I really wanted to win more until it happened. Apollo and Juliane won and I was cheering out loud in my bedroom. They are just too cute together. I think they should be a real life couple although they say they are more like brother and sister. It's hard to believe that she is only 18-Crazy I know! It was another great end to one of my favorite shows!!
American Idol...also ended on Wednesday and this is the one show that I'm not putting a picture of only the winner. I love American Idol much more then Canadian Idol and this season was pretty good. Idol gives back was such an amazing special especially Josh Groban and the African children's choir- find it online and download it because it brings tears to my eyes every time. The finally for idol was great awesome musical numbers! What was the best was that they had almost all of the past winners there everyone but Fantasia which was okay by me because I didn't love her! It was great to see Kelly, Carrie, Ruben and Taylor perform again- they were all so awesome. When the show ended though I was kinda bummed. Jordon is a great singer and a beautiful girl who deserves it I guess- I just liked Blake soooooo much more. I thought Blake was original and unique with a great voice and man could that boy beat box. I just thought he was more entertaining to watch and such a cutie. There are so many other people out there that sing like Jordon, it would have been great just to have something different. My favorite Blake song was in British Invasion week...he did the song that goes "There's a Time and a Season..." I don't remember the name but he beat boxed in it and it was amazing!! Kinda bummed but it wasn't that bad!!Okay so there is one more thing to mention that will be ending and that is my time as key holder as of Roots. This coming week will be my last as key holder because after that I will be taking on the role of assistant manager, which is pretty big. I hope that I can do the job as well as Lisa has, she'll be moving to our Sunnyside store as manager since Tequira is officially going to be on maternity leave. We are going to miss her a bunch, but this will be a great opportunity for me, to have full time hours and make a bit more money which will be great since soon enough Brandon and I will be on our own. I'm looking forward to the challenge, but am still a bit nervous!! Wish me luck!!hahha!!
Here are a few more things to mention...

Sonja and Phil celebrated their second wedding anniversary which is pretty crazy it seems like just last week we were at their wedding. Which was a great celebration. They had a nice weekend, getting away over night and going out to dinner with her mom. What was fun for me was that i got to baby sit Ethan for them. He was a great little guys as always. I had some helpers as well since Kathy and the kids were over, they just love their cousin Ethan and love hugging and kissing him. We had a fun night playing. He is definitely busier then the last time I watched him but it was a real treat I love watching the little guy!!! Here are a few pictures from babysitting!! Oh and as you will notice Sarah got her new glasses this week and I think she looks so adorable in them. She adjusting well to them!
Jessica celebrated her 6th birthday this week and after graduation Brandon and I went over to help Kathy and Jeff with the party. I was the official photographer and took a bunch of photos. It's crazy to think that Jessica is now six, I was there the day she was born and was like the 2nd person to hold her. So to see her turning six and being able to read and write is crazy!! We all went bowling which was interesting, the girls were so loud and everywhere...Brandon was a hit with all the little girls...I think they were trying to steal my man!! Jessica had a lot of fun with her little friends and I think she had a great day. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the day...
As for a wedding update, I'm hoping to have invitations in the mail this week and also hand delivered to those living close by this week. I'm crazy and I can admit it...see we wanted to put a little wallet size picture of us in with our invitations, we had a nice picture taken, but when I got them back they just seemed so plain compared to the invitations...so I decided to mount them on card stock...well one color wasn't enough so they are all mounted on 3 colors...all 120 pictures...done by me. My finger tips were going numb from counting so much. Brandon offered to help out, but I'm too particular on how things are cut that I just had to do it...stupid I know. All the elements are together now, I just have to put them all together and we'll be set!
Sonja and I went to look at flowers this week and pretty much have everything ordered which is good. My flowers are going to be roses, and Gerber Daisey's in pinks, orange and yellow which should go along well with our bright color scheme. I really just want to see what the finished product will look like. Thanks so everyone who recommend Laura J's to me she was super sweet!!
My dress had not arrived yet, but I'm hoping it'll show up soon...I just want to know if I will fit in it!! Sooo nervous about that!!
The last thing to mention is that there is still no new baby. Kathy has been waiting patiently all weekend and getting harassed by everyone with updates...poor girl. She called the hospital again tonight and they said that they've been super busy, and that there is one more person before her on the induction list. Mom said that he doctor has also been calling because she is really concerned about Kathy getting in and having this baby. So hopefully it'll happen tonight, but if not tomorrow. I think Kathy and Jeff have told them to call at any hour so that this baby can finally make his or her way into the world. I work until 5:30 tomorrow and I'm hoping that after work I will be able to go straight to the hospital to see the new baby!! Good Luck sis, I'm keeping you in my prayers tonight.
So I hope you have enjoyed this long update and i hope to post again soon with the arrival of baby nelson number four! Hope you have all been enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend...so glad it arrived!!!

I love curling up on the couch and getting a good Karen update! Congratulations on your graduation! And it was fun that you and Brandon got to be doing it together. That was nice of his grandparents to come! I was thinking...man we should have been TV buddies because I watch soooooo much TV. I'm bummed because all of them are coming to and end...and I even have The CW with all the good shows! Your flowers sound awesome and I can totally relate to the invitation thing. I had to do that little window (not sure if you remember) but I had to cut them out myself...I did a lot of work on them...though I did let Kellie come help me with them because I was starting to go crazy! Anyway keep the updates coming!! I love LOVE love reading them! xoxoxox
